Oh didn't you just hate those parts in Season 4?! Such an excellent, excellent story you wrote here! It's funny because I'm working on something similar, different but similar. I just love how much you can tell about the Doctor and Rose by seeing them through the eyes of others, like Donna or Jack or even Martha. I love it. And I think you did an incredible job showing that here. Lovely, lovely one-shot.

This is beautiful. It's good to read about the Doctor and his mourning, because even though it's sad, it's reaffirming. The Doctor is who he is, through ups and downs. While he
moves on because he has to, even the show doesn't have him ignore the loss forever. Your placement of these moments of sorrowful reflection fit right into canon. I appreciate how you show passage of time through both following companions, along with their differing reactions.

The tie into Rose on the monitor at the end was a hopeful touch, and served as another nod to what we all saw happen.

Great story. I love stories that deal with the ghost of Rose's memory and it's effect on the doctor and his companions and you've done it brilliantly.
