Good chapter. I am still surprised that Snape actually asked for a teaching job; but then, old habits die hard, and no doubt a familiar, though odious task, might help him to adapt to a rapid change of life.

I do hope he considers freeing himself someday, though.

I am quite surprised that Snape doesn't go for the apothecary or potions research area--I thought he'd had enough of teaching.

And I have a horrible, horrible feeling just who is going to be in his classes...

I do hope he'll receive more medical treatment than he currently has so far--yes, the throat wound is patched up, but I suspect his general health was bad before that, given the level of stress he's lived at nearly all his life. Being around cigarette smoke is bound to irritate his healing throat; but since you state outright you plan to torture him some more, I expect this is but a minor annoyance compared to what else you plan to throw at him.

This is interesting, though--is he ever going to be allowed to eat or sleep? I noticed that he's been going for almost a full day and a night without any food, and one glass of whiskey isn't much of a substitute.

You know its true, JKR did not mention a burial for snape and everyone just thought that he was dead after looking into harry's eyes. No one actually thought to make sure. Wonder how snape would react if he had girls hanging after him?

I'd love to see snape finally get a life of his own. He spent too long following the orders of voldemort and dumbledore, it's about time he could live his own life. Funny chapter this was =P but I was wondering if you'd be mentioning Hogwarts?

This is a neat start! I hope the people really _are_ there to help him--he's been told 'we're from the government and we're here to help you' before in his life, and it brought him to this pass.

And he's not a coward to be realistic about how the Ministry will treat him. Remember, Minerva McGonagall tried to kill him with Flitwick's help less than 24 hours ago. And given that Trio left him to die and nobody checked up on him, how would he know that Harry spoke up for him?

He deserves to have an actual life--and did a long time ago.
