Witchy-grrl 2009-12-04 . chapter 3I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this Spock/Uhura with all the burning fire of a bajillion suns. :D The banter, the GENIUS Spock!snark, Uhura losing composure, and Spock being SUCH A GUY while attempting to handle Uhura being SUCH A GIRL is ridiculously classic. :D I look forward to more! |
harriethare 2009-10-20 . chapter 3 I truly enjoyed your story, I wish you would finish it. |
 nerdielady 2009-08-18 . chapter 2Hysterically funny. |
Jackie 2009-08-07 . chapter 1 I read these chapters and Linguistics. These are the first 2009 movie stories I've read, and I count myself blessed that they're well written. They might not have been! I was interested to see that, whilst I tried throughout to visualise Nimoy's Spock, I could only see Quinto's. To an extent this emphasised differences between the two which I had not perceived when just watching the episodes and the movie. Perhaps the timeline makes the difference too, such as in his relationship with Sarek, which is of course non existent in TOS. I loved these stories. I wonder (not a criticism but a question - maybe someone can take it up with me) How reasonable is it for him to be able to have sex with someone on his first meeting with her (Linguistics) but not to be able to say I Love You. Is there such a discrepancy between physical and emotional love for Vulcans in this time line? I don't know and I'll carry on thinking. I await more with anticipation! |
sf.fangirl 2009-07-26 . chapter 3This is a nice chapter. In all honestly I found Uhura in chapters one and two to be so totally out of character that I thought this to be some kind of crackfic. Also I am disheartened to imagine that the 24th century would remain so sexist that every woman felt a need to serve an impecible five course meal to impress her mother-in-law. I also found myself somehwat confused about the specifics of their relationship with her being a cadet and living with him publically.
This chapter was good though. Uhura appeared much less crazed. Her reminencance explained their relationship which is still completely outside of the bounds for a modern day military academy. (Cadets involved with an officer at the school will hide it and only marry or make plans to marry after graduation.) I likes the view of their life you created. I loved Linguistics so I was please to discover this is a continuation of that story. I loved poor Spock's confusion. He can't say that he loves her or needs her, but he does. He is simply so confused by her sometimes.
I liked this chapter and look forward to the next. Thanks. |
mykardia 2009-07-24 . chapter 3oh sweet =) very cute and very good! love it...Spock is so funny and so caring... |
mykardia 2009-07-24 . chapter 2OMG! ROTFL! This was so perfect! Everyone was giving her wrong advice! Oh, sheesh so perfect! Love it when Spock asks, 'Why would a goat need to go to the hair dresser?"
and then his joke...just so perfect! I'll be laughing for hours..you just made my day! =D
too funny...i can barely write for laughing =D |
mykardia 2009-07-24 . chapter 1lol hilarious! Had be laughing the whole time! i mean..seriously just perfect! Nyota is so funny, and Spock! Spock is priceless! Absolutely love him! He's so unconcerned and so logical...and so unruffled by Nyota's emotions! |
Lokin 2009-07-22 . chapter 3 The conversation about household chores in this chapter is reminiscent of the conversation Sarek and Amanda have about attendants in Holography 2. You really do a good job portraying how Spock is influenced by Sarek when it comes to relationships.
That said, what's up with the pugel stick? |
sadhappygirl 2009-07-21 . chapter 3so maybe Nyota doesn't have to cook after all...
love the reference that Spock might end up in the hospital...lol |
Mariole 2009-07-21 . chapter 3Aw. I'm really enjoying this. Thanks for the update! |
 makaem 2009-07-21 . chapter 3Poor girl. She can't win. |
ayachan1412 2009-07-21 . chapter 3very much enjoy this sequel, its fascinating to see that after years of relationship, even one that supposed to be 'the best of both world' become "the worst of both of his species" in time of crisis hahahaha...well like so many others already pointed out, vulcan or not he is still a male.
now what will Uhura do now that poor Spock is disappointed, plan a surprise trip to Washington to see his parents? |
T'Lu 2009-07-20 . chapter 3I've loved all the humor in the interaction between Spock and Uhura, so this serious turn was unexpected. I hope this doesn't turn out to be the last chance that Spock had -- and lost -- to see Amanda before Vulcan is destroyed. That would just be too sad -- one of those things that haunt you forever. |
carsonsgirl 2009-07-20 . chapter 3Great chapter! Very well-written, lovely insight into the characters. And wow, reading about such overachievers as Spock and Uhura always makes me feel dumb, but they're mega-athletic too? Not just his usual Vulcan-superstrength/speed or her cadet-combat-trained agility, they're both avid trail runners and outdoorsy? Sheesh! :) I mean, it makes perfect sense of course, but I just feel extra couchpotato-y now. ;) More soon, please! |
