wow.

No, really. WOW!

I love this story very much and even though I've certainly always been on Team Winifred, I think Mary certainly deserved her happy ending, which she got. I've always thought that poor Mary was somehow deprived of something - love, friendship, human interaction, call it what you will - and you made that very clear in that story.

Her, falling in love/lust (I'm still not sure which - which is a perfect thing) with Winifred, uncertainty rising and then deciding to do the thing she should have probably done years ago (even though I'm sure she needed all that time to realise what she really wanted and needed) - you did all this with a wonderful sence of beauty and, most of all, clarity.

I think I mentioned this in a review before (when I was drunk...) but reading this story gave me so much peace, such a sense of serenity (even though I am well aware that the characters rightfully don't feel this way) that I found myself quite falling in love with it.

It's like a pretty white muslin dress for girls. Just wonderful, beautiful.

Thank you so much for writing it!

I absolutely, stunningly, most certainly adore and love this sentence:

Society wouldn’t approve, and while, in the theatrical circles, there were certainly women who indulged in these... tendencies... Mary was not one of them – and nor was Winifred.

PERFECT!

As was this chapter - you captured the sadness and the joy and all those confused emotions so perfectly it feels like I'm in the story and feel with the characters.

okay, now I've come to chapter one.

I LOVE THIS STORY! It's all so plausible and perfectly wonderful written.

No, seriously, when I read this, I feel like I'm sitting in one of those huge armchairs (and trust me, my couch is nowhere like a nice, squashy armchair but old and worn and you get a backache if you sit on there longer than 15 minutes and I sat there for longer than 15 minutes) and there's a soft breeze and the sunlight's filtering in through nice curtains. That's what your story feels like. I mean, there is longing and passion and sex and all that but it just feels so perfect.

There's this gentleness throughout the story and I absolutely adore it.

Sorry if I wrote rotten reviews for all the other chapters but I'm not a good reviewer.

Anyway: GO TEAM WINIFRED!
