This story was tragic. I always pictured them as secretly married, and I think I like that picture better. But your story was great for the angle you went for.

Very good story.

So very sad. And Albus could have been happy with his wife and children if he had tried, too. He really should have divorced her and let her go to find someone who actually loved her, but he gives no reason for not doing so.

Hmm. I'm assuming the narrator is Dumbledore and the woman who said no is McGonagall. It's a bit more angst than I expect from Dumbledore, although I can believe the pain and the marriage. I would hope that Dumbledore (if it is Dumbledore) would have tried harder to make the life he had a good one. I don't agree with it entirely, but it was an interesting read.
