Whew, when I read in the second last paragraph "all the people who died" and then "Dick, barbara..." I thought you meant that all of the listed people died -- not that they had all suffered as they do in the comics -- until I read the last paragraph.

I love this story. I love everything about this story. I love the Christmases at different points in Bruce's life, I LOVE how he and Dick interacted - I truly believe Dick saved Bruce. I love the father/aon relationship, I love that Alfred gently rolls his eyes at 'chum,' I love how the NML's Chirstmas starts out bleak and then ends with him remembering just last Christmas, and Tim and Dick and Alfred and - and Dick Grayson's son sliding down banisters in Wayne Manor. There's something gleeful and satisfying in that idea.

So, yeah. It was fantastic. I loved it.
