D Good to know that your writing is still brilliant across other fandoms. Actually, I'm looking forward to this massive HP project of yours, it sounds fascinating. Also, I've never really read much about the Maurauders (which I can't spell, oh well) so it will be nice from that front. Anyway, yes, I like very much the last two lines, and the fact that his heartbeat remains, like it represents his humanness and it's like the only link he has to his un-transformed self. Nicely done
