Don't. Please. I really DON'T want to like Sally 'kay? But I kind of don't have a choice here, do I? But here you can't help feeling she's just so...normal. No super-girlfriend who makes dinner for her boyfriend's family and plans his kid sisters' birthday party and is best-friends with his step-sister and gets him to admit he 'loves her' and is just so hot! amazing! smart! awesome!
Here she's just so ordinary. Who lies and bears grudges gets hurt. And I kind of love your Derek description here. I think this is one of the hottest I've read. I like him as that eternal devil-may-care charmer with that smile and those eyes and everything. (And by Sally's description, I was reminded of my own 'younger guy' and I thought it was damn well written).
Also the slight hint of Dasey. I'm a Dasey-whore and I admit to liking blatant Dasey but I think this really worked because of the subtlety. The allusions to the fact that Sally was such an attempt at Casey v. 2.0

This is so lovely, so soft and gentle and sad. I have this horrible sinking feeling that Sally's Dad did something bad, something that destroyed her family? Which then leads to the way Sally inserts herself so deeply and desperately into the MacDonald-Venturis (which has always seemed a little odd)? How devastating for her, to have to go off and leave this replacement family behind. And HER being the one who asked him to go with her? Wow! And of course Sally seeing the Dasey, and the way it makes her feel...
You know what everyone's been doing for Emily lately? You just did it for Sally. You've made me love her and pity her and really really worry about her. I hope she can be happy in Vancouver.

I really liked reading Sally's perspective on Derek and Casey. I actually liked her on the show and even with Derek. I just wanted him to be with Casey more.

its awesome that you did a Sally story,...because i like Sally and the best thing is that there was just a hint about Dasey and you didn't really get into that...i like ny Dasey...but i guess we need a different POV sometimes...original and great stuff...

Oh, this is a lovely Sally POV, and it manages to stay about SALLY, and doesn't devolve into 'just Sally's thoughts on Derek and Casey' - which is great. Your Sally feels very fleshed out and real - and there are so many great lines. I especially liked, "being with him was sort of like being the It girl. It was like some cosmic seal of approval—if Derek liked you, then everybody should like you. Or else" and "She hadn’t really meant to do it, not really. It was just that base instinct to seek out the best and the brightest, to be as charming and sweet as she could, to smile in all the right places." I think they work really well with the not-so-sympathetic traits we saw with Sally in the show - but actually work to make that behavior sympathetic and understandable.

And I love the ending line :)

wow..so this was really sad..i mean i don't really like Sally but you made me feel for her. It was really really good..i did want more dasey in it but maybe that's just my selfish dasey side. :) loved it!

Aww. It's nice to see things from Sally's point of view. Really, she was pretty cool, except for the whole dating-Derek thing.

Oh very nice! Not to overblown with angst -- not too sappily dasey -- not too much of Dally -- everything is just right!
