| TrisakAminawn 5/24/13 . chapter 6
You know, of all the torturous identity play you've done in this fic, I think the most powerful moment of it is when Kudou Shinichi reaches for his apotoxin, doesn't find it, and asks with no fanfare at all, "Where's my coat?" My coat. It's like, bam. This is real. This is his life. He may be Shinichi, and himself again, but that time is not going away or disappearing from his identity.
...the idea of a fiercely penitent Kudou Shinichi, out solving murders with all the forensic expertise and physical ability of an accomplished invisible assassin and the drive of a wrong that cannot ever be righted is...terrifying. Awesome, but terrifying. The insanity he gets up to as Conan is bad enough, and that's as a small child with no combat training to speak of. After the crows are cleaned up...yikes.
I wonder if his corpse-magnetism is active, or will reactivate if he gets to be a detective again. I'm not sure he could take it. The death. Would not be good for his recovery, even if he held up. Maybe he'll manage to attract cases where he can actually save someone. The justice of truth can hardly feel like enough with this Shinichi's background.
| TrisakAminawn 5/24/13 . chapter 10
The mental state of Crow-san was unexpected and quite delightful. In a...horrible, distressing way, of course. Nice use of prop.
GODDAMN IT KAITO YOU IDIOT WHAT GOOD DID PANICKING EVER DO ANYONE?! At least try a mundane solution first; and whatever you do plan and take things step-by-step; I know you've gotten preternaturally lucky as usual so far, but a magical solution always has a /cost/, and the less cautious you are, the more likely it is to be unpayable. Your impulses get you into so much trouble. Aiaiai. The situation was fairly dire but not actually an emergency. Please in future save this level of reckless drama for do-or-die moments. And now you've gone and abandoned Saguru with a very dangerous black-feathered bird.
I will look forward to that continuation.
Also, did I mention in a previous review how uncomfortable mentor!Akako and her thing with Hakuba made me? Everyone else's issues seemed to have been sorted out, but those issues were mostly circumstantial, plot-related, or escapable as part of a character arc shown either here or in canon. But Akako is a narcissist bordering heavily on the psychopathic with a pathological need to be admired and in control, who habitually abuses her power. PLUS most of her issues are bound up in contexts of sexuality and romance. She and Aoko together make one big red and blue Madonna/whore complex.
So the character development necessary to get her into a stable relationship with a reasonable adult, let alone someone as stiff-necked as Hakuba, in which she is not emotionally abusive and even provides balanced nurturing to small children is immense. At least twice the volume thus far devoted to Saguru. That you didn't actually do this development in a fic about something else entirely is utterly reasonable. That you did not even allude to it is creepy. I assume the boys tried not to think about it because Saguru/Akako made them uncomfortable, and was clearly related to her improvement. The white with the red. Heh.
That setting's Conan is going to find out he's not entirely real in the usual sense at some point. That will be tense.
Anyway, new chapter yay!

Wow... this story is even more intense than the last one! I really hope you can update again soon because I really want to read more! I loved reading all the parallel worlds, especially the one where everyone had elemental powers and kaito, hakuba and aoko were really close (my inner fan girl that loves KaiHakuAo threesome screamed with joy). I love how close saguru and kaito are too as they continue to travel. I wasn't expecting the operative kaito to be so sad and i can't wait to see how kaito and saguru help him. :) PLEASE UPDATE AGAIN SOON!
| Diamond Gryphon 4/18/13 . chapter 10
This is every bit as awesome as the first fic, if of a slightly different focus. I really enjoy Empathic!Hakuba, so I appreciated the interlude about how he's coping (and not) with everything.
I'm very glad you're still working on this story. I await an update.
| Kayla 44 4/18/13 . chapter 10
Thank you so much for updating. I love this story.
| oceanlover4evr 4/17/13 . chapter 10
Oh. my. Gods.
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!1 AN UPDATE!
This makes me so ridiculously happy like you don't even know. This fandom is slow, but when it updates,i t produces amazing works.
This chapter was absolutely, gut-wrenchingly emotional, to the put it made me uncomfortable, but in a good way. Kind of like how you describe Kaito living the dreams, except we as the readers are experiencing the story.
| Shry 4/17/13 . chapter 10
Doctorate work sucks. Good Luck!
OMG, OMG, Horrid beautiful cliffy! I hope you have time to write more after you doctorate, Your fics are all amazing!
| mountainelements 4/17/13 . chapter 10
Wow. I actually thought that we weren't going to get an update until the anniversary of the last update so this update is sooner than I expected. The purpose behind the connection makes more sense now that we see the other side of it. I wasn't expecting that at all, but it makes me feel sorry for assassin Kaito. I'm now wondering if Vermouth is going to have a similar backstory. Kaito has already broken his promise to keep Saguru informed. Thanks for the update and good luck with your doctorate!
| SeraphChronoMage 4/17/13 . chapter 10
Man, do I feel sorry for you. Doctorate work is a bitch, especially at the end. I hope that unlike one of my friends, you do not have to redo your project in order to present it to a different committee with only three days warning. Thank you so much for continuing, my heart leapt when I saw this notice in my inbox. Good luck with your presentations!
| kdm13 4/17/13 . chapter 10
Oh dear. Oh gosh, oh dear, oh gosh.
I apparently have no desire to stay safe as I would have hugged that guy...
So happy for update.

If you're out of ideas for this one, you could try an alternate universe in which Touchi is still alive—or even one where Kaito was never born (or died at a young age, possibly in the "accident" that was intended for his father). That'd be interesting, right?
Sorry, it's just been six months since you updated. The ideas popped into my head and refused to go away until I'd offered them to you.
Anyway, both this story and Promenade before it are extremely good—as in, I must have re-read them at least four or five times, each.
I'm kind of sad that this one hasn't been updated, since Kaito and Saguru falling through parallel versions of their worlds is fairly interesting, especially as they discover and subsequently adapt to the various differences between these pseudo-homes and their real home.
Plus, the nightmares began in Promenade—it will be interesting to see how that extended plot arc finally ends and/or whether Kaito and Saguru, upon meeting the Dark!Kuroba of his nightmares, can save Kuroba from Vermouth's evil grasp, or if Kaito will be forced to break his one rule—"No one gets hurt"—by killing *himself* (well, a dark, twisted version of himself, but still).
Basically. I've given you ideas; will you please update it now? I mean, it *has* been six whole months…
| Kayla 44 9/19/12 . chapter 9
This is an awsome story. I can't wait until you update again.
| midnight1906 8/6/12 . chapter 9
I'm sorry for asking something completely unrelated to this story but if you could, could you continue "Shades of Grey". I really like that story and I've been checking every time to see if you have updated on it.
| Guest 7/2/12 . chapter 9
I'm very happy to see this chapter :) This is one of my favourite stories.
