Omega is not a planet killer (In that Voyager episode parts of the research station still survived), the main problem with Omega is that even a single molecule will damage Subspace for light-years around making FTL travel impossible. For a civilization that depends on FTL travel that makes its existence too dangerous to contemplate.

hey, it's a valid question, and valid questions tend to lead to creativity, which tends to lead to ideas for stuff, inculding great fics. This was a nice lil oneshot, though I'd hate to be the one who became immortal. Geez, I'd feel guilty for forever. The only reason I'd want to be the one to live would be if I were pregnant, so if I were them, I'd vote for whoever was pregnant, so at least two lives made it.
