Mai x Mai 2009-08-07 . chapter 1I simply loved this story way more than the actual episode. I hate how disney tries to get some cruel jokes out of macy, while totally ruining her potential as a great character.
You're story had such great lines in it :] and the dialogue was amazing :] if the fans had their way, this story would have SO been in the recent episode. |
xxVICTORIAxx 2009-08-07 . chapter 1i agree with you.
Macy should become friends with Lucas Boys
love the story!! (: |
LittleRedOne 2009-08-05 . chapter 1This fic's great! I like that it redeems Macy's stalker-ish dating habits. Besides that the fic was great though! Tne end was brilliant and I was smiling pretty big most of the way through this. Great job! |
Tna-Alysse 2009-08-05 . chapter 1I didn't really like Randolph but I totally agree how Disney blatantly corrupted a potentially good character by making Macy into a slightly crazed person just for some laughs. I surely wasn't laughing, I was creeped out. But you've managed to pull of a great response to the previous episode, something constructive. And I am kind of warming up to the idea of Randolph even though I think he's ugly but he's a nice kid. You've thrown the reality curve ball at us fans and helped cope with our unrealistic fantasies. Thanks. |
 me! 2009-08-04 . chapter 1 A h m a z i n g . j o b ! ! |
The Good Girl 2009-08-04 . chapter 1wow! so cute! and i loved your little blurb at the end. really great :) |
applepips. 2009-08-04 . chapter 1I love Owl City and I loved this too. It was a sweet look at the horrible thing which Disney did. I haven't seen the spiosde but from what I've read, I'm pretty disappointed. Why do they spoil their characters so. And no you are not insane for wanting them to be friends. Disney is just being idiotic as usual.
I like this slow discovery of how she sees something more in which she missed before. And he's honestly adorable, giving her a second chance and all. They probably have a better chance at happiness than Macy ever will with her crush. And I love the line about teenage romances.
- teenage romances can be so overrated sometimes, but sometimes, they can be the best thing you’ve ever experienced, a feeling of euphoria and stolen glances across the classroom that make your toes tingle and keep you locked in place with racing hearts and surround you with a childish desire to savor the bright, fleeting moments that come in the younger stages of our lives, the ones hard to notice if you don’t look closely enough.-
It's one of the loveliest lines I ever read about teenage love and why despite being cheesy is still wonderful and why we all need a good dose of it sometimes.
And I like how at the end, she's getting over Nick and instead thinking of something with Randolph who is god honestly adorable and sweet and all kinds of wonderful. It's nice cause as much as Macy's fan girl wants to stay alive, she needs to grow up and leave them behind. Kind of live for herself. Which is exactly what this fic did. Excellent job, I always love it when you post something new. Makes me giddy with delight. :) |
 onewomanshow 2009-08-04 . chapter 1AWW. AWW. AWW.
Now that you mention it, I feel kinda of bad for Randolph. He seemed really into her and Macy seemed really not into him. You're right, Disney does treat her badly. But she did mention in the episode she's getting better so maybe that'll change.
It’s not like I have an actual chance with any of them and that’s fine. It’s better this way.” She's slowly realizing it. :)
“I’m not that out of this world…unless you mean in a dorky way, in which case, yeah I’d have to agree—“
“Macy. You’re amazing, whether you’re aware of it or not, end of discussion. Got it?”
That whole conversation, amazing. I love how she still showed her insecurities and Randolph reassured that she's just as great as any other girl out there, if not better.
Macy and your Randoplh as perfect for each other, they both can sing and throw mean curveballs when they feel like it.
By the way, I totally giggled when Randolph said "That's hot."
Favoriting! |
suburbs 2009-08-04 . chapter 1Picture me standing and applauding. I was so miffed my the Macy aspect of that episode, and you're right - Randolph deserved much better. Unlike Joe and Nick's girls of the week, he did nothing wrong (except go along with Macy's craziness). Just when I think Macy is making steps forwards, they slam her back into crazy world. And this time was just disturbing.
BUT your story was lovely and sweet and a perfect cure. I love how he didn't jump at the chance even though he really liked her. And his crush and appreciation for all the good qualities we see in Macy made me really like him. Excellent job. And your lame beta will get your story back to you soon! |
Sunset Clouds 2009-08-04 . chapter 1Wow, now THIS is what should have happened! I mean, Macy was kind of...mean, you know, making somebody a JONAS. I mean, if you like somebody, shouldn't you at least let them be themselves and accept them for who they are? And if she didn't want to go on the date, she could have said no, even if Stella was there.
But I really liked this. It was sweet to see Macy with a whole other guy. Yes, he won't be remembered, but this oneshot definately will, to me anyways. *favourites*. Amazing job! |
 camirae 2009-08-04 . chapter 1:)
Okay first, I wanted to say I'm sorry for not responding to your fantastic PM yet! But I did read it and I completely agreed with basically everything you said, haha. Our HP discussions are the best. :) And then I read your last bit about Owl City and pretty much freaked. :P They're awesome and have such a cool vibe. I'm really bummed because I haven't gotten their new CD yet, but I have the songs from 'Maybe I'm Dreaming', so I smiled when I saw the quote at the top on this story.
Haha but anyways - ONTO THE STORY - this was just amazing. I love how it was so lighthearted, and touched on the bits of the episode I wished I could change. I really did Randolph seemed like such a sweetheart, especially when he was so excited to have a date with Macy. I was honestly really excited that Macy had more of an appearance in this episode, and the whole "Nick" thing with Randolph had me expecting a lot of new Nick/Macy shipping, but this was unexpected and so great. This is just so simple and so..Macy (haha) and I love it.
There's more words I'm looking for but I can't quite find them - so I'll conclude with saying that you're absolutely right to want to stand up for Macy. I understand how Disney wants to use her for more the comical and crazy bits of the show, and keep her as the obsessed fan, but I think it would be so cool if they were real friends. They would have hilarious adventures, you're right. And Macy's just so likable - if she stopped injuring the boys in the show, I'm sure they'd love her too. :P
Haha and also - I really loved reading your last bit about how most of us don't fall in love with pop stars and that's okay. That's really great, actually, and so true. It also kind of connects to the "it's just a celebrity crush on JONAS, not Nick personally" line - I think that's such a smart thing to say. Because really, when it comes down to it, what do we really know about these celebrities we crush on? Haha. (Of course it's a little different in Macy's case, but you know) :)
Anyways, I loved this. Thanks for giving Randolph a chance in your story - I really did think he was a sweetheart too. :D
Love, Cami |
Jalla 2009-08-04 . chapter 1 Wow. Very great story. Helps fix the sick (excuse the pun) feeling I got from the episode. Thanks.
Also Ran = love |
xovickixo 2009-08-04 . chapter 1Randolph was a total doll! He's sweet reaction when Macy agreed to the date...and then the rest of the episode happened... I know it was supposed to be funny and I so giggled along a few times...but yeah, kinda completely crazy what Macy did in the ep.
So, yes, YAY on this fic!
Kudos to Macy for having the strength to approach Randolph after she fully admits to herself what she did. And good on Randolph for sticking to his ground and not wilting to his crush.
Yeah, I'm going to pretend this fic happens in canon and restore some dignity/normalcy to Macy's character.
Thanks for the read! |
faerietaleredux 2009-08-04 . chapter 1To start--I love the new icon, and new quote. Great stuff. Thanks for pm, I thought of you when I saw the new ep--though I admit I fast forwarded most of the Joe/Stella I couldn't stop myself from being pretty repulsed by what I did see. They just don't work as a couple to me. And I'm kind of depressed that it's so in your face now. *Deep breath*
The Macy storyline was depressing too, for its own reasons. Because as much as I love Macy/one-of-the-boys, Randolf was a real sweetheart. Not attractive, but sweet and endearing. The way he was jumping for joy when she agreed to go out with him? It was adorable. I love that he appreciated her for who she was, when the JONAS boys (ie Nick and Joe) don't, even still.
Anyway, it was so sad how his heart was virtually crushed. :(
ANyway, onto reading your story--which I'm so happy is up! I'm hoping it will make me feel bad about "Love Sick." Stupid episode.
"She can’t believe she took such blatant advantage of him, and tried to make a clone of Nick." I love this story already for acknowledging that.
"He looks unsure, probably feels embarrassed for her judging from how uncomfortable he seems to be in his seat." Such a good point. Makes Randolf even cooler.
My heart is breaking as we speak--because I love Macy and feel bad for her, even while I'm annoyed at how pathetic what she did was. I still love her despite it. And Randolf, I already liked him (and I almost never like the one-episode-date characters) but you're making me absolutely love him.
“It’s not like I have an actual chance with any of them and that’s fine. It’s better this way.” Bittersweet. But it's almost good that she's realizing it. Because I don't want her pining away for the rest of her life. It's not healthy and she deserves better--she deserves someone who will appreciate her, someone who will see without straining how amazingly wonderful she is, just as herself.
I think I would start copying everyline of dialogue, so I 'm going to stop myself now from saying over and over how torn I am on their behalf.
"He’s great just the way he is. How come she never saw this – all of this - before? She wonders how she could be so blind sometimes." ! Macy is guilty of the same thing I hate Nick and Joe for doing to her. :( But she's remorseful so I forgive her.
I love that he's not weak, he's honest. He's totally upfront with her--sweet but reasonable. He's coming off as the perfect guy.
I kind of wanted to rub Nick's face in it more, bc I'm mad at him too. Though that's not fair. But I don't think he would have understood just what he's missed out on by not noticing Macy. He's so dense. I'm mad at them all really. But this does help ease the pain from 'love sick.' Thank you. Amazing job really.
I had this idea for a Nick/Macy but now I almost feel guilty writing it. Like I should be on team Randolf instead, in protest. Maybe I'll just make him suffer a lot. *grins evilly* |
