L is NEVER wrong.

This surprised me. Personally, I'm not much one for B, or Another Note in general. I find that B-related fics often carry that cloud of "gagh, go away" simply because of Nisiosin's handling of the initial story, of which B's original characterization is a huge part.

...But I actually like this. Like it quite a lot, actually. It has a nice balance of creepy and downright mad, and brings out the sporadic bits of B's character that I actually like. The writing itself is very well-balanced, flows well, and has a feel to it that... fits, all around, primarily because of the way the concept was harnessed through B's insanity. I would normally have twitched a bit and wanted more imagery, but the snippets of thought and memory, along with the upfront sentence structure, supplement the presentation so well that additional imagery is... unnecessary, to a certain extent? (Although adding details rarely goes amiss, I suppose.)

Anyway. Enough with the rambling. Point being, I liked this, and I liked it despite the fact that I dislike B and the sidestory in which his character was conceived. The entire idea was enthralling, despite the brevity of the ride, and the presentation was excellent.

I love B.B and I think you captured him rather well in this fic. I enjoyed it very much. All in all, a great read.

Great job with B. He is an extremely difficult character to write and I think you handled him well. I could definitely see his younger self doing a lot of the things you described (laughing at the dead cat, singing his spooky song, etc.) I really like how you mentioned him memorizing L's speech pattern too. Overall, this story provides a very interesting snapshot of B's childhood.

...BB is creepy as heck. LOVE him dearly, but he's creepy as heck. *shudder*

WOW. Yeah. That really explains a lot. And I can see this happening. Although, if L suspected that A might kill himself, wouldn't he try to stop him? Regardless, awesome fic, you captured BB really well. :)
