Your syntax is impeccable for the story's period, and though I might quibble at Erik's lack of darkness, I suppose we all see him differently. It's the mask, yes? Leaves so much to conjecture...

Wow. That was quite a saga. It was beautifully written, which helped to enhance the tension and drama in the plot. Based primarily on Kay, the characters were portrayed with accuracy and insight. Your pacing was right on, not too slow and not too quick. The Phantom’s last “performance” was both spectacular and humorous. I couldn’t help but smile with him the whole time. I’m delighted that he and Christine had a happy ever after, and there was even room for Nadir in their lives. The fact that you made it a short story, complete in one fell swoop, is appreciated. No waiting for the next chapter. Thank you for writing this delightful piece.
