I came across your story on the Just In page while checking to see if my update had worked.
Unfortunately when I tried to submit my fairly lengthy comment, I got the dreaded FFN error message.
Still I see no reason why you should lose out on a review because of FFN's inability to keep this site glitch-free. In short, this was excellent. I have always enjoyed this version of the Cinderella story (Drew Barrymore and her shaky pseudo-Brit accent notwithstanding) but I agree that the movie appeared to lack a certain transition between the prince's denouncement of Danielle and his subsequent change of heart. This little vignette fills that gap very nicely.

I also liked how your fic's premise would explain why Jacqueline was so warmly and wholeheartedly welcomed into the fold by the prince and Danielle while Marguerite and the Baroness were sent into exile.

Just one last thing, I hope you don't mind my making a tiny grammatical suggestion - this line should probably read: You would have *cast* her out.
