I read this weeks ago and thought it was brilliant, and last week when I was on vacation, I suddenly thought about it and realised I HAD TO read it again, and post a review, since it obviously made an impression on me. Slughorn is phenomenal, absolutely brilliantly written, and the awkwardess is... well, apparent is an understatement. I almost had to bury my face in a pillow when I read the second half of it. Well done!

Wonderful story. I always do enjoy reading good stories about Slughorn. And he was very much himself here, bragging with his students, getting enthusiastic and carried away, and then suddenly realizing he might have said a bit too much. Or a lot too much.

Well, I would have expected slightly more (or less) from Severus, he strikes me as a sort of inward suffering outward scowling type. The gasp was fine, but I would have expected him to flee to some dark corner for some private suffering right after that.

But that's just my humble opinion, I did love your story, and Slughorn was perfect.

oh god, i can't imagine if this had happened in hbp there goes three chapters of dh. very well written. to be honest i expected snape to kill himself or harry to slap him. ah well. great story
