 Shipwright's Trick 7/28/10 . chapter 1Way.
Poor Fingon. Brave man. What a vivid description of it all, too!
And poor Maedhros. After all they had been through together, being friends despite who their fathers were, and Fingon rescuing Maedhros from Angband, and all that...Fingon was dead. Poor Maedhros. And then to have to say, no, we can't spare the time to bury anybody, we have to go and to have to take the word to Turgon ouch. That hurts.
I liked the details about Fingon's banner throughout the story, how it brought about his downfall all the faster (because I think perhaps it is agreed that it was inevitable against balrogs) but something about the star shining through the muck and the orcs' blood and the elven blood of the battlefield in Maedhros' hands just caught me and pulled. |
Araloth the Random 8/21/09 . chapter 1*sniffle* Totally tear-worthy, and definitely gives a reason for Fingon's 'the Valiant'. By the way, I like your obsession with character deaths, because it results in interesting stories. So no need to be sorry, mmkay?
