Yeah, okay, so it's whump without plot but you write hurt/Don so deliciously, it really doesn't matter. Besides, it's worth it for the image of him lying in the garbage, leaning into Liz's embrace, worried about Robin finding out. That would top his day off just fine, wouldn't it?
