Binka Fudge 1/29/11 . chapter 5I don't know what this says about me as a person, but I really enjoyed this idea. For some reason the last ending, the one with the pineapple bombs was my favourite, it had a Monty Python-ish air to it. I really wish they were still all around so they could film a Harry Potter micky take. |
Binka Fudge 1/29/11 . chapter 4Ooo,I feel all nice and happy after that. I really wish JKR had done that, it would've made for a much more interesting end to the series. I really hope someone takes up the idea for this story, I'm dying to see what happens and while I've dabled a little in writing fan fiction, I don't think I'd know where to start with Padma, being such a blank slate. And as for Hermione, I think she might do quite well with Neville, although I must admit I prefer seeing her paired with either Fred or George. Yeah, I know they don't seem to have much in common, but if you look hard you might find something, especially considering we don't know that much about the twins from canon. |
Bobmin356 1/24/11 . chapter 7This short has a lot of potential to it. Please consider it further before consigning it to the trash heap. |
reader1writer1 1/15/11 . chapter 7I enjoyed all of these but this last one especially. I'd really love Dumbledore's reaction(s) after the next day's paper, and then later, when the Potters return. This has a lot of potential. :) |
piad2691 1/12/11 . chapter 7Other stories about James/Lilly alive: See ROBST, hes got a new one. Waited really long for Soul, didnt we, hmmmm. Hope you are on the bike again. Lokking forward to some smakdown of important people. |
Selonianth 1/6/11 . chapter 7meanwhile everyone and their brother thinks Lily and James are dead. |
Luan Mao 1/5/11 . chapter 7I like it! I've read a handful of "James and Lily live" stories, some of them very good, but all had them as self-centered cretins or dupes. Your story breaks new ground, for me at least. I like the technique of a character telling a story with "and you can imagine you were there...". Consider it stolen. But wouldn't you have preferred to put **FLASHBACK!** before and after that block? It's all the rage... Regards, LM |
BARON2462 1/5/11 . chapter 7this was a great idea for a story i would love to see you continue to expand on for posting |
Shadows-of-Realm 1/4/11 . chapter 7Kevin, That was great! I loved the plotline and the approach was the best I've seen for this classic genre. Would you be willing to write a sequel? Maybe showing what happens ten years later? |
Jimm 1/4/11 . chapter 7Interesting story idea. Thanks for sharing it with us. |
Wonderbee31 1/4/11 . chapter 7True, the logic with the Harry/Horcrux thing doesn't fly with all that went before, unless JKR just turns it around, which she had a tendency of doing a lot of times. Would really hope to see more of this one day, and maybe this Dumbledore isn't evil, but he's sure a nasty piece of work imo, and found myself hoping that his downfall is hard one day soon. |
Zamia 1/3/11 . chapter 7Interesting idea. Would be good to see Harry brought up with family around him. Would also like to see the aftermath of the Prophet story. Cheers. Z |
alix33 1/3/11 . chapter 7"he was right about where he was and dirt fell down heavily on top of him making it hard to breath." - "hard to breathe". "I didn't think you could create something that would attract a Killing Curse and drain away most of it's magic so there wasn't enough to completely kills us," - "most of its magic". "And Pettigrew," he spat. "I swear I'll lock him in is rat form and throw him in a room of cats." "I'll find the cats for you," she said coldly. "I can't believe we trusted him." - I agree SO fully with their plan for Wormtail. "Sirius Black! I swear I'm going to cut your tail off for abandoning Harry like that!" Lily yelled at the mirror." - Just his tail? Lily is IMO far too merciful. I have friends (not even my mom) who would have divested Sirus of his...er...bits, were it me he so callously abandoned. "That bastard," she whispered fiercely. "I swear I'll strangle him with his own beard." - Dumbles' stragulation? Once again, too mercful, IMO. Cut off his bollocks with the bluntest, dirtiest and most cursed athame you can find so they cannot ever be re-attached, Lily! "Lily rose and walked over to the display board. At the edge of the map, she saw "James Potter", "Sirius Black", and "Remus Lupin" quickly make their way towards the house. Their rate of progress indicated they were flying. She chuckled to herself. Leave it to her husband to find a way to fly when they didn't really need to." - Hehehe. "So we went into hiding to try to prevent at least one of those events from happening to Harry so he wouldn't be the one picked to be Fate's bitch." "James!" - Swearing a very minuscule bit bothers Lily at a time like this? "she cast several spells around it to isolated it from her son." - "to isolate it". "Relieved, she sat down with Harry in her lap and cast an "Enervate" on him. He blinked his green eyes at her and then smiled. "Mum-ma," he called to her as he stretched his arms up to her neck. Lily pulled her son close to her and hugged him tightly, barely able to kept tears from falling she was so happy to hold him safely and see him unhurt. Her husband walked into the room a few minutes later smiling. He ruffled his son's hair, which grabbed the boy's attention. "Da-da." Lily offered him to her husband, who grabbed him and tossed him a few inches into the air, causing the boy to giggle." - AW! "Remember when we filled the Slytherin common room with three feet of strawberry Jello?" - Sirius, being a British wizard, woul call it "strawberry jelly". "Sirius leading them into the offices of the Daily Prophet. Sirius walked in and strode past the receptionist, who shouted "Hey! You can't go in there without an appointment!" He opened the door to the senior editor and propelled Remus inside the small office before closing the door behind them. The old man with thinning white hair looked at the pair before he fixed Sirius with a stare. "I thought I told your father I never wanted to see any of your family in here again." With a grin, Sirius chuckled. "I believe I do remember that. He's dead and my mother doesn't care about you, so most of your wish is granted. However, if you want to turn down a lead story that will sell extra copies, we can leave and you'll never see me again too." - What a dim-wiited policy that excuse for a newspaper has! I work for a South African muggle daily newspaper and if any of our readers has information leading to a scoop for our paper, the editorial board practically offers them their firstborn's hand in marriage, not chase them away! "Remus chuckled too. "That article will make Lily happy." "I hope she'll be happy enough to make Prongs happy and give us another Pronglett to spoil in nine months," he said with a grin, causing Remus to laugh." - The idea made me laugh too, but then again, I am not Lily, who will have to give birth to said Pronglett. |
ILoveGeorgeEads 1/3/11 . chapter 7i loved it. |
sparky40sw 1/3/11 . chapter 7while this obviously would have shortened the series quite a bit, it was very well written, plotted and thought out. thanks for sharing a very good story. I hope that at some point you choose to show the fall out as Sirius's sworn words go public. warmest regards Ken |
