You know, you really are an amazing writer. I just discovered you today, and I've been reading a few of your stories (harro, fellow long-time writer! ^^), and I have to say you really write professionally, and it shows how long you've been writing. Your style is truly /yours/ and no one else's; it seems like a style that's been nurtured and developed for many years. There is just so much professionalism in every sentence -- for example, even just taking the first one ("His teacher gives him a candy-cane and he snaps it into thirds obligingly, sucking on his part, playing that it's a cigarette, cool and sharp.") there is so much elegance and power to it that I'd expect to read a sentence like that in a literary novel rather than amidst piles of steaming horseapples on .

Now, about the story itself, I really think you are very skilled at writing Shinjiro. I could picture him so well in my head and hear his voice, and your prose is just such a joy to read.

And now, before I end up fangasming even more over you, I'm just going to tick some boxes and wait for more fic.

Interesting prompt. I liked this a lot and I think you did rather well writing Shinji. He seemed in character (to me, at least XD)
