The first part was pretty sad, I was moved to tears at one point (sappy fool, that's me) because Jin was feeling so despondent. And the second half was like hot chocolate after a thunderstorm. Really well written. There's a place where I feel you should have used have instead of 'of', but I guess that's ok.
