I really liked this. I love the whole Mccoy all knowing thing as well. It's so much fun to read, especially considering that bones is a grouchy old man. Love it.

"Kirk glanced back at Spock. "Thank you, Mr. Spock," he said, a smile spreading over his face. The human and the Vulcan stared at each other for a second longer than was necessary, and Kirk saw comfort and affection cross Spock's eyes for just a moment. But that moment was enough."

This is such a total canon Kirk-Spock moment :-DD. It's the accumulation of dozen of those sweet little exchanges that gave borth to slash. The relationship migth be emotional and never crossed to the physical, but there is love there that's for sure :).

Nicely written. All-knowing Bones was very fun - hey, he's the closest person to these two, he's bound to notice all the looks and smiles. Two small comments: near the end when Spock returns to his station you said "behind down to examine something". I'm guessing this should be "BENDING down"?

Also, you had Jim fall asleep and wake up within 2 sentences in the same paragraph. I had to go back to re-read that because I felt it was rather insensitive of Spock to suggest that Jim returned to his duties immediately after getting the medicine. It's only then I realize he'd slept at all. If Spock considered him fit for duty that means he must have slept at least some time - half an hour? an hour? Two? What happened during that time? Did Spock stay at his bedside all along? Did Bones? What did they talk about? Because no way Bones would pass on that chance to needle Spock about his protectiveness of the Captain. :)

It is pretty cool but a little short I love the way you are picturing the character . I think this deserve a next chapter though. Maybe with Bones who try to make Spock and Kirk realised their feelings for each other . * please, please, pretty please ? *
