 Lady STRiPES 2010-01-03 . chapter 1Whoa cross-over-over-over?
Surprisingly enough for the ridiculousness, this is pretty freaking amazing |
SRoni 2009-10-06 . chapter 1I read this one when you first posted it on LJ. I don't remember what I said about it then.
I love the characterization and the representation of the Big Bang guys, with the lines "The fourth seemed immune to feminine charms. That might make him gay, but considering the company he kept it was more likely his mind dwelled too far out of this world to be occupied with basic things like sexuality.",
“I’ve already got a gorgeous blonde back at home who I can’t score with. I’ll let you two take a shot at this one.”,
"As he moved away with a handful of broken phone, she caught a glimpse of his face, and realized that despite all his bravado he’d never really expected to have a chance with her."
I don't know Dollhouse well at all, so really can't tell you that much.
Firefly characters were SUPERB.
"“You want to fill that out a bit?” Mal seemed casual, leaning against the infirmary wall, but one hand rested just as casually on his sidearm. Zoe stood alert, within arm’s reach of their visitor." Great capture of them.
"“Uh-huh.” Zoe looked to Mal. “Mr. Doctor’s acting awfully squirrelly, sir.”" I can picture Zoe saying this so easily, with her straight face.
"River loved Jayne Cobb’s stunned reaction whenever he couldn’t intimidate someone." Very much Jayne- and I like River's reaction to it.
"“We’re obliged.” Mal took a breath. “But if you’ve got a way of taking that blue box somewhere else, I’d be grateful if you’d do it. I have a feeling you’re trouble, and we’ve got trouble enough.”" Very much a Mal line. Very perfect.
And probably the most heartbreaking line in a humorous story: "“An empty girl,” she murmured. “They fill her up, then empty her again. It’s sad. She should be free.”"
Now that I've shown you that I think pretty much ALL your lines are my favorite lines, I just want to say that this story is a gem. I tend to not reandomly find people on FFN, because the majority of the stuff you find here is total crap. I'd say about 99.99 of it. But the remaining .01 percent of it is SO GOOD that it's worth digging through all the trash to find the gems.
No, I can't say that statisict, really. How about 94.3% of it is utter crap, while the next 6.69% is patalatble, and the remaining .015 is completely and totally amazing, and that makes digging through the trash and the not quite trash not just worth it, but preferable- because I'd rather dig through it to find a story like this than not dig through and miss out.
Then again, that's also why I friended you on LiveJournal- so that I CAN read your stories without having to dig. |
gingerwitch 2009-10-05 . chapter 1 *is dead from the sheer amazing nerdiness of this fic* |
katalizi 2009-09-28 . chapter 1 Oh my dear and fluffy lord!!
I must admit that when I started reading this I found it rather confusing, and almost lost interest. ALMOST. I'm so very glad I didn't let my short attention span get the better of me, because this whole thing was just (as the 9th Doctor would have it) FANTASTIC!
I couldn't believe that there were so many crossovers of my fav shows! Big Bang Theory, Dollhouse, Firefly, Doctor Who, Terminator and even a mention of Buffy (or did I imagine that in my joy?)
This is a very clever fanfic, and the most amazing thing about this was how you managed to keep the 'voice' of all characters concerned. Every character, even the OC Kilo, were true to their show. And on top of this was the humor that I really enjoyed! I rather liked this line:
'The weird one posited a scenario in which Terminators might be sent back, posing as Terminator actors, to wipe out humanity'
because it just sounds like something the boys from Big Bang would say.
Congrats on a magnificent fic!! It certainly took my breath away. In fact, it seems to be appealing too much to my dreams, so that when I finished, I had to ask myself ... 'Did I fall asleep?'
(Heehee, I couldn't help myself there!)
Never stop writing!! |
