I didn't know really what to expect when I first started reading. When I finally realized what was going on, I almost stopped, but then forged on. The premise seemed a little too outrageous at the beginning, but the quality of the writing was so good that I felt compelled to continue. It was easy to see everything in my mind's eye--the author did a fantastic job of describing scenery and events. Everyone stayed in character, and the change in Spock and his father was believable and consistent. This is an excellent story, and a nice new take on a rather overdone subject.

Ettikah was just what Spock needed in a friend. Hopefully Kirk and Bones will except him just as well. Plus it'll give Bones a whole new range of insults.

Oh Spock... Surely they'll see reason eventually.

Is this where the prologue starts?

They'll be a cure, Star Fleet just needs time to find one.

If anyone can do it, it's Spock. He's to darn stubborn not to succeed.

Well, alternate universe, so anything goes. Ok so not Vampires, just unreformed cave dwellers. All in all, same difference. So... Spock tries to save his mother?

So, Vampires do exist. Spock should learn to be more careful. Then again his more Vulcan than human, and they are a stuborn lot. Well if they must have feared Amanda would be attacked too, sometimes it is better to listen to the advise of others. Vulcans need to learnt that too.

Now I'm even more confused. Is each chapter a little farther back in the past? Or is this one after the first as a sort of link between chapters?

Well, I'm not sure who anyone is. IS the husband Spock? Sarek? Or from some other telepathic race? For that matter who was she? This chapter was understandable sad and sorrowful. Other than that I can't wait for the next chapter.
