"they were learning about love potions with Snape," - whose knowledge of said potions must surely be purely theoretical? Otherwise, EW! Can you IMAGINE being under the influence of a love potion that Severus Snape brewed?

"Harry snorted. “And love potions can help us defeat Voldemort by making him fall for us?” Lavender looked horrified, but Hermione and Ron sniggered, despite the name." - EW, that is even worse: Imagine Tom Riddle Junior fawning all over somebody from the light side after he ingested a love potion that person brewed!

"and I want a two parchment essay on anything dealing with love potions," - Slightly OT (off the topic) question: But how long do you reckon one parchment would be, then? Would, say, a thousand words, be equal to one parchment?

Very nice...

You may not have intended this story to be sad, but I found it so. The ending was hopeful, but nothing was guaranteed - just like real life. I suppose I'll just have to edit it in my mind to get the ending I want. The comedy was satisfying, and the characters all seemed true to their natures. Reading this story was like sipping warm cocoa on a cool evening. My preferred ending would have been the marshmallow on top; but even without it, the warm feeling remains. Thanks.
