Me 2009-11-19 . chapter 1 Interesting fanfic. Its not often you come across a work that actually deals with relationships in a realistic way. In fact this is the first and only one I have ever seen. I personally love sasusaku, I'm not particularly sure why, but I agree that the notion that you can "fix" someone in order to make them love you is one of the unhealthiest outlooks you can have in life. I know because I have been there, and in the end wether or not the person needs to be "fixed" is in itself a matter of perspective. Good work |
Canadian Leprechaun 2009-10-17 . chapter 1You're a good writer, and I ship SasuSaku, so it's not like I'm just saying that. And you have portrayed an entirely realistic scenario.
But your author's note completely killed it. That entire monster paragraph, basically restating everything from the story and explaining it? You act like we're all too stupid to read or understand it by ourselves. Like you're the only person on this site with any semblance of maturity or rationality. Even we who support the pairing realize when it's not going to work in certain scenarios.
Not going to lie, you come off as remarkably pretentious and self-absorbed.
But, again, good writing. |
GirlWaterShaman 2009-09-14 . chapter 1I like SasuSaku, and I enjoyed this fic. I can see this happening if Sakura didn't change much during the timeskip, and Sasuke got together with her for convenience sakes or to make her shut up. Lol. |
Paige O.o 2009-09-02 . chapter 1Okay, first. This was very well written and the dynamics in the relationship are ones you never see often. Which I'll go right ahead and say - I agree with every aspect of your authors note. I think people tend to get caught up in the fluff and romance that they don't ever think of showing the other sides of love, because its not all roses and rainbows, it is hard work and there will be bumps along the road. In your fic I agree, Sasuke did the right thing by breaking it off as it was leading down a road that would only end up hurting everyone involved.
Of course, about you saying people rarely touch on break-ups, well yeah. I don't want to write about my OTP breaking up. That would just be depressing and I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that you don't ship this pairing so, then, would you write a similar story about whatever pairing you like? Maybe you would, maybe you wouldn't, but it is understandable why people write about the happier, lighter side of love.
And as for you mentioning crazy shippers, I think we all sometimes tend to forget that Naruto is a shounen manga. Its about the fighting regardless of who gets together in the end. So yes, ignore flamers. This was well written and much more realistic then half the things out there. |
