Laura-trekkie 2009-09-20 . chapter 7Yay! It took a bit of time and a few days of pain and fear, but John's back. I loved the final scene in John's room. He and Rodney don't really do the talking thing well, but they have their own shorthand and seem to get the meaning behind the sometimes awkward words. I'm glad Rodney's starting to accept what Carson and John have both said about Rodney's hand in saving John. It may not have been the heroic things John did to save Rodney, but it was just as necessary.
Lovely story as always. |
Laura-trekkie 2009-09-20 . chapter 6Well, I suppose it was too much to ask that they'd get through the town in one piece. Thank god Ronon and Teyla were around when they were needed.
I'm glad John and Rodney are finally home, though it's going to take John a little time to settle. What's wrong with him that's making him so hot? That's all he needs on top of that beating and the problems his amnesia is giving him now that he's back in Atlantis. Hopefully Carson will be able to help with at least some of the problems and John will be able to get his memories back at a more sedate pace. |
Laura-trekkie 2009-09-20 . chapter 5Another tense chapter as they crept through the caves. I'm glad they made it through with only a little hypothermia and a bullet graze. Better yet, they found someone willing to shelter and feed them for the night, one thing less to worry about.
Hopefully John can strike another thing off his list of things to worry about now that Rodney's seen the brand and reassured that the Lanteans, his friends, won't take him back to Jyra when they see the brand. Rodney handled that well, considering it's Rodney ;). |
Laura-trekkie 2009-09-20 . chapter 4It's easy to forget that going home doesn't have the same comfort for John as it does for Rodney at the moment. John's final talk with Hemmin reminded me that he's essentially leaving his home to go into the unknown, even though he's fully aware that this planet isn't really his home. It must still be very strange. It's good to see a few more things coming slowly back, even if it is the simple things so far.
The journey looks like it's going to have some tense moments. Thank heavens they've got the edaaka and that John learnt a lot from the Indanni. But what might they face in the caves? And will they make it through the town without trouble? |
Laura-trekkie 2009-09-20 . chapter 3It's great to see John and Rodney together again, and John remembering the odd thing. I can certainly see why his brain is taking its time to recover- there's a lot of stuff for him to remember and a lot of it is painful in one way or another. I'm glad that simply having Rodney there is helping slowly.
I just hope that leaving tomorrow won't be too soon for John's mind to cope with. Atlantis and all their friends will be terribly overwhelming for John if he's not remembered much by the time they reach the gate. Maybe being on the move will jar things loose. |
Laura-trekkie 2009-09-20 . chapter 2Well, that was certainly a tense chapter towards the end! Rodney's obviously not had a fun time over the last few months, but at least he's in pretty good health all things considered and now he's free \o/.
What made John rescue Rodney? Did he recognise him in some way, or was it just coincidence that Rodney was the one who ran passed John's position?
And where are Ronon and Teyla? |
ManicTater 2009-09-19 . chapter 7I really enjoyed how Rodney and John were there for each other. And how Rodney as such an anchor for John. |
Forahr 2009-09-16 . chapter 7I just have to throw my 2 cents worth in and thank you for myself, for such a superb story. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I love stories where I can feel as if I am right there in the thick of things with our characters. You have an excellent ability to portray our guys perfectly. And you describe scenery, environment and such so that it can be easily seen and experienced.
More Sheppard and McKay please! |

Machinegun0arg 2009-09-13 . chapter 7Aaw, that was very cute! Nice peaceful ending and I liked the idea of Shep getting along pretty well with desert people and their way of life |
auStraliS23 2009-09-13 . chapter 7I remember reading this story a while ago. I loved it then and I love it even more now.
Your descriptions are always spot on. I felt that I was almost there in the story. Shep's fear was so tangible I wanted to hug him and yet he still had his core of strength, and good old McKay doing what McKay does best - bumbling along and still managing to do the right thing.
Thank you for reminding me all that I loved about this story and, of course, for writing and sharing it. |
AtlantisGirl12 2009-09-13 . chapter 7Yay! I'm so glad I finally got to read this chapter! Fanfiction wasn't letting the chapter come up. Anyway, I just loved this story; I really liked the interaction between Rodney and Sheppard (and Beckett too! Love him!). My only complaint was that it had to end. Can't wait for your next story! |
