2009-10-22 . chapter 4
Well, I thought that this introspective chapter actually shows some of the questions that Tatewaki has as well as some of what his own internal journey is causing him to face. I actually found it interesting to see how his views on life and his passions are evolving to fit his new mindset. It was an enjoyable read, and I am sure that we will see the other nutbars of Nerima Ward before too much longer.

Well, I appreciate your efforts to update quickly but I think this chapter might have benefitted from a little more time. The main problem is that plot-wise nothing seems to be happening. I know that Tatewaki needs some time to reflect and get his life on track, but it feels like the romance between him and Nabiki is a long time coming. And Nabiki didn't even show up in this chapter, either in person or in his thoughts. To me, it seems like the dream is fading from his mind and with it his feelings for Nabiki; therefore, the romance element is losing momentum. I still hold out hope that Nabiki might do something to jar Tatewaki out of his stupor though.

I guess I'm a little more critical this time. Sorry. On a positive note, I thought comparing Fukazawa to a baseball player was pretty funny.

I actually enjoyed this chapter. I read "Miles to Go Before I Wake" (glad to see that other people out there still read the classics, btw), and loved it. I'm glad that you're writing this. I look forward to the next chapter.

As far as the yeast proofing goes...if the cool temperature in your kitchen is impeding its growth, perhaps you could turn up the thermostat. Just, uh, tossing that out there. Just an idea, you know...because that would make it warmer...in the kitchen. So, yeah. Bread is tasty.

Another great chapter. It has long bothered me how little development was put into Tatewaki. I understand that it was necessary to give that strange normality to nermia, but after the end of the series - or at any point, really - he would hopefully see past that. And in this, he has the benefit of the time spent realizing it, then a chance to go back and implement that knowledge and experience. Certainly, I think many of the Ranma cast deserve such second chances, but Tatewaki is probably one of the few who seems completely ignorant of what he was getting into, and suffers from a condition predating (albeit horribly interacting with) Ranma's appearance altogether. Also: Sorry, can't offer any aid regarding the bread/yeast.

Definitely been enjoying this. Nice and mellow, and shows hope for even lunkheads like Kuno. Looking forward to seeing the direction he'll be ending up in forthcoming chapters. Keep up the excellent work. :)

I must admit that i am enjoying this story and i hope that you continue to post more chapters. As a writer myself, i can understand how difficult it can be to find the motivation to continue a story that doesn't seem popular or well received.

It's nice to see a version of Tatewaki Kuno that is beginning to wake up and face reality, the usual delusion idiot bit that he is usually portrayed as does tend to get a bit dull after a while so a fresh take is always appreciated.

It will be interesting to watch as this Kuno travels the road of enlightenment and self discovery and a romantic pairing with Nabiki would be enjoyable to read about.

Anyway, keep up the good work and know that you have at least one dedicated reader who eagerly awaits each new chapter.

It was nice to be in Nabiki's pov this chapter. I found her matter of fact and funny, a nice contrast to Tatewaki's more brooding persona. I was wondering how their "courtship" was going to work, but now it seems like Nabiki's going to be the one to pursue Tatewaki. Out of purely financial reasons, of course. (Sure, we all believe that.) I'm very curious to see what will happen next: what Nabiki's plan is and, on a more immediate level, how Tatewaki will react to the news that his pigtailed girl is Ranma. Thanks for the update; it made a dull Thursday night a little more enjoyable.

Nice developmental chapter for Kuno, and from Nabiki's astute, but now slightly off-balanced viewpoint as well. So did Ranma actually show Kuno the reason why the pig-tailed girl might be out of the picture? With Kuno in his lucid state, it might actually sink in, while a blow to the ego, might help him further on his road to ...sanity, I guess.

I do have to wonder what it is that Nabiki has cooking in the back of her mind now that Kuno has renounced being her customer and is even trying to make peace with his former enemies, not to mention with his own inner demons.

Another chapter - of the same high quality, and leaving me wanting the next chapter that much more. I await the next update.

Enter Nabiki at the end of the chapter. I was wondering when she would come in.

It's always fun to read your take on Kuno, which, though a bit out of character, is nevertheless fascinating and believable. I felt bad for him when Kodachi said she was too busy him. The poor guy really just wants someone to love, but everyone rejects him. I hope Nabiki is more receptive in the future.

Amazing how dreams play havoc with your waking consciousness. But I guess in Kun's case, he needed this kind of wake-up call. Although, seeing what is going on so far, I have to wonder if maybe staying with the fantasy is better off for him...as it seems there is only pain really waiting for him here in reality.

Ignored by his father, despised by his sister, and pretty much everyone else thinks he's a jerk and/or an idiot...

So... seems like Kuno's got a pretty long journey ahead of him.
