Well, this was a good one-shot.

I like how this one-shot fills in a gap that wasn't in the movie. From reading this story, it felt as if this scene were a part of the movie, especially the way it was written. Of course, towards the end of the story, you misspelled 'carriage' as 'carraige'.

the ending was magnificent! especially the final line, perfect! sophie and eduard are one of my favourite couples in the history of everything, seconding izzy and tommy in the fountain.

I really think it would be great if you added another chapter or two. It seems from the ending that she would see his open eyes and tears streaming down his face and realize that he's alive. Am I right? Then she could read the note and administer the antidote to him. All in all I think this story was very well written. I enjoyed it very much! I do wish you would continue it!

I am so confused! What happens at the end? Does Sophie see that Eduard is really alive? I would love to hear more of this story. I love this movie more than any other movie out there and I like what you have added to it. I think that you should add even more. It has so much potential. I just want Sophie to know Eduard isn't dead.

Very good. This definitely fits the feel of the film. Although I agree that it ends well, I certainly wouldn't object to a bit more. Good work.

Yes, it works well as a "one shot," but there are possibilities for further embroidery should you wish to do so-which I would vote that you at least consider, as this is very good.

I rewatched The Illusionist and then had the urge to see if by rare chance someone had ever written any fanfic for it. I was pleased to find this and then thrilled to discover that it's a real gem. A lovely, well written piece. Thank you for sharing it!

It does work well as a one-shot, but 'a lovey-dovey Eduard-obviously-feels-like-crap scene' would be wonderful to read too... ;)
