This truly was heart-wrenching. Made me wish to hug little Arnold right away and make sure he gets away from this family and surroundings and grows up amongst loving poeple like he deserves to.

You're going to hunt me down, I know... But I didn't even feel sad reading this. I mean, yeah, sure, it was sad, very sad if you're an emotional person, but I'm more or less an emotional rock. Sorry bout that XP

Anyway, I never really thought of Rimmer as a bad person... More deprived. I mean, it must be hard to have grown up with three brothers who are fantastic at everything you're not, parents who don't care and absolutely no friends. In retrospect, everything Rimmer did was justified, he was just horrible to the wrong people. Not that he could do much about that when they were all dead for three million years.

A very nice little character story. This is a superb if rather sad story of young Arnold Rimmer. I'll be honest it reminds me a lot of school and does explain a lot of why he is who he is... And the last phrase was rather heart wrending and never would be...

oh dear, that's so sad! poor Rimmer! at least he doesn't get killed by his family! :)
