Better than the first one!

I must admit that I didn't really know if I'd be reading any more "Fanservice" after the first installment; it was cute, and worth a few chuckles, but that's about it. Perhaps I just wasn't in the right mood at the time. Fortunately I changed my mind, because the series really begins to come into it's own with this chapter.

The rampant anime and pop culture references were priceless. As were the multiple Reis. And the effects of boredom on the Evangelions (shadow puppets, jan-ken, and pattycake...what's next? Cats cradle? Go Fish? Karaoke?) and the Magi. As was so much else.

We will grant that it's not high art, and that the continuity and characterization are completely shot to hell. We will also grant that we don't give a rat's backside. It's a fun read, and that's the long and the short of it. Once in a while one NEEDS to read something light and silly like this. Especially with all the BAD attempts at Eva humor we're seeing lately.

Looking forward to Fanservice III!
