Hello, . I just did a re-read of your most excellent 'Greyed Out'-I'm falling into it with each visit-and decided to read this one-shot too. I don't usually read Red stuff- there's little enough of it-but you teased me into it. And I'm glad. I remember one day watching AC/C for about the millionth time (my partner in crime worried I was loosing my mind, stuck as I was to the movie-ha! I've since gotten stuck on the computer in fan fiction!), at the opening scene with Red and his cubs. I burst into tears. The date pops up-you remember-and I thought 'omigod, its more years after Cloud and Tifa and co. than it is since the American revolution. It was suddenly unbearable to me that the world went on without them, as it will without us. Yet, small as it is, the mark each of leaves moves the historical story a bit, just a bit. The flapping of butterfly wings. You know. Thanks for this. And the other, too. mc

I seriously loved this- Red has always been one of my favourite characters and he doesn't get enough screentime in the spin offs. It makes me sad but this made me very happy- I can easily imagine that this was how Red was was feeling and what he was thinking at the end of the game- "there is only beauty waiting in his future" was a wonderful line and perfectly fits in with the title.

I enjoyed it a lot. Sorry about the rambly review. :)

Sometimes, it's nice to read fics that don't take the Compilation into consideration. I don't read too many, but when I do, there's a different feeling to the stories. A feeling of...nostalgia and "what-ifs" and "maybe's"

This oneshot was a nice picture from Red XI's POV. I loved the descriptions, which fit nicely with his musing on the past, present, and future.
