This was actually my first TMNT story and no other has been quite as good since. I just realized I hadn't reviewed it and that just seemed too horrible to think about so here's a review for you.

Your writing style? Perfect, don't change a thing because you've nailed an amazing style and it would be a shame to change it even a little. I adored that the focal point was Mikey but you managed that from Don's perspective. It gave the whole thing a closeness I don't think it would've had from Mikey's point of view. To put it simply I just love reading about someone being injured but still managing to pull off something people didn't expect from them. And Mikey being my favorite surprising turtle was a good conduit for that. I don't think I can't quite explain what made me love this story so much but I know I adore brotherly love and schmoop stories. Throw in some action, suspense and whump and I have a veritable field day. XD So all and all this is my favorite TMNT story. Continue to be amazing.

You should write a sequel about Mikey's recovery, Leo's subsequent groveling, and the entire turtle team gaining a new respect for their little bro!

And although the language bothers me, I can't disagree with the logic of, "If it hurts bad enough, you will scream out any and all of the worst expletives you can think of." So I do understand. ;3

Wonderfully heartfelt. A lot of the turtle angst and hurt stories are a little excessive, but this I could really see happening. I have always valued Mike and Don's relationship as they seem to be the more sensitive of the two. You did a great job on playing on each turtle's strength and weaknesses. I'd love to see more fics like this. :)

Bravo/Brava!

Oh I liked this one...well all of your stories, mainly because of how well they are written and also because of all the emotions going on in the background. Seriously, this one was one of the best 1 chapter things I've read, both opened and closed in a fashionable manner that didn't leave us hanging. I really liked the issues in it and how it showed the weakness of Leo-he can be quite caught up in his self-righteousness and miss what happened, like what happened in this story. I liked seeing this side of Mikey because you bring up a great point...he has self control and can do his best and prove himself but usually he saves it for when it really counts. And it is so wonderful that he was so selfless, able to calculate the consequences of his actions and dove for it in order to save his brothers, who in return give him a hard time because they are unaware. I also really liked the Donny/Mikey bonding in this...I love when it's sort of brotherly paired like that because Don/Mikey and Leo/Raph just work off of each other well and have so much complexity between them. This was sweet and I liked Donnie's role in this and how he saw it all and is able to discuss it with Leo and to care for Mikey. Fantastic work, I really enjoy your stories and I seriously hope you consider writing more...I will read and reveiw all of them :D

I greatly enjoyed this story! I rather doubt any of them would allow physical weakness to compromise their brothers. I am happy to see Mikey be a bit different from normal... It suits him to know when to pull out all the stops on himself.

Awww Mikey is so awesome! Honestly, I can relate to this so much it's not even funny. I know what it's like to be Mikey, but in a less threatening situation (of course!) This was a refreshing read from some of the sillier ones about Mikey. Glad I decided to read it!

I love the fact that Leo doesn't have eyes in the back of his head and that he TOTALLY missed this! Mikey was a right trooper and made the sacrifice of his leg for his bro's head (very thoughtful of him) and Don giving Leo a dressing down and deflating his assumptions was a very cool family moment to read unfold.

Mikey's funny as hell, but I do love it when authors show his other facets and that he's as stubborn as Raph when he needs to be. 3

You write such wonderful Don-Mike interaction; you know this, right? You write such wonderful Don and Mike, period. I aww'd and snorted and laughed and did a little "Take THAT Leo" dance in my head. And when Don got all snappish on him? LOVE. 3

I give you many cookies for having Mike say "And why is it always my legs?" xD Most excellent point.

But I think my FAVORITE line in the whole thing is "Not even a little bit of amputation." X3 That was made of win. So cute!

I remember very well how that feels, poor Mike. :( There is no worse earthly sound than that awful snap.

Well done. Sad but very good, and with I think very cannon interaction between the brothers. I have the feeling that Leo will apologize and the brothers will make things right in the end. They can fight, and the damage, like to Mike's leg, is serious and painful but will, in time and with proper handling, heal.
