Oh wow. Jasper has a lot to think about now that he's started his new job. His fascination with Mary Louise and her fascination with him is quite interesting. I find it interestingthe pondering over Mary Louise... recognizing the attraction to her but not in a sexual way... his caring heart wanting to assist... will he help her find her wings again and soar back to heaven? only time will tell... and then of course there is Emmett.

The second chapter was even better than the first, excellent

This chapter came so soon - yay! (That's *not* what she said hopefully.) I really liked it, of course. I love the idea of Jasper trying to imagine if he could kiss Mary Louise to figure out if he really was attracted to her. I've done the exact same thing! And poor J having to take a Matlab class. Yuck.

“I just want you to be happy, my boy,” she said in her Motherly Tone. I could practically feel her hand smoothing over my hair the way she always did when she said that. I even smiled a little as I popped the top off my beer with the cast iron opener bolted into the side of the food pantry. “Jasper Thomas Whitlock, was that a beer you just opened?”

I chuckled. “Yes, Ma. But don’t worry. It’s a Shiner Bock.”
