AW! This is too sweet. I love Kirk's freak-out. And Bones' assessment that he sounded like a wailing little girl. But seriously, his freak-out made me totally giggle. But the ending was absolutely perfect. I liked the italics but the actual birth/present time was much stronger. This is totally sweet and Kirk's so perfect for the kid - You and I are going to be TIGHT! *giggles* I can totally see Kirk taking a night shift to let Uhura and Spock sleep and taking the little one to the bridge to play... He's totally going to be the "fun" uncle! But that freak-out was total WIN!

That was absolutely lovely. The flashbacks were well done and delightfully not-long (my eyes tend to glaze over when there's too much text in italics, even if its my own story), and Kirk himself was just absolutely perfect. I enjoyed seeing this all from his perspective. So glad this was recced on spock_uhura on livejournal.

you know what? I liked this story-loved the Uhura/Kirk interaction. Kirk despite his arrogance, is a loyal friend to Spock and Uhura. this funny and touching.

Jim freaking out over delivering a baby-priceless! And the flashbacks made the entire story come together!
