An eight year old girl stands as still as a stick waiting for her father to come outside and play with her.
"DA-AD! COME OUT COME OUT WHEREVER YOU ARE!" Alice yells.
Alice's father snuck up behind her and snatched her up and ran.
"Oh Dad! You never get tired of that, do you?" Alice laughed, her voice was like bells.
"Nope!" was his reply and he started running towards the field.
Everything seemed perfect, but then again, life is never perfect.
Something happened that changed that young girl's life.
The next night, there was a huge fire blazing within the fields.
When Alice went to get her father, she discovered he wasn't there.
She snatched up her stuffed dog her mother had given her before she... she left.. and raced outdoors.
Alice panicked. What was she supposed to do? She couldn't do anything on her own! And her dad was missing!
"DAD!" Alice screamed, her voice echoing throughout the village. "DAD!"
Tears poured down her face, now pale as if she had seen a ghost.
"Help..."
The child fainted, and the last thing she saw was a warrior running towards her.

You see? Builds up the suspense that makes people want to keep reading.

-10 YEARS LATER-
A rooster's crow woke an eighteen year old Alice up.
As the now young women made her bed, she smiled at Stuffy, the stuffed dog and went to her closet to change.
When she was done, she walked outside to do her daily chores.
She picked up the corn bucket

Or bucket full of corn,

and went to feed the chickens. When she was done, she walked back inside the house and washed her hands.
When she sat down, she was greeted by Ella, a good friend of her and her father, who had taken Alice in when her father disappeared.
Ella had always been like a motherly figure to Alice, and Ella always felt like Alice was her daughter. Alice appreciated this very much.
"Ella... Do you think...That maybe, just maybe, Dad will come back?"
Ella paused, and looked up at Alice.
"If you believe."
Later, Ella sent Alice out to buy some food.
As she neared the market, she overheard the warriors talking about some sort of journey.
"Wivin the Dark One has taken the power orb and the only way to save the world is if we can find the true warrior who can defeat her." one man said.
Hearing this, Alice quickly stepped in.
The men were surprised to hear what she said.
"I want to help."

And that's an example of a good story. I'm not saying your story is bad or anything, but you should try to write a bit better...
