FlyingLikeAButterfly 2/15/13 . chapter 12This story is just wow! It's amazingly written, all the nations are some how scarred but there are still happy times. :) |
Akakata7 11/26/12 . chapter 12Oh wow. Spectacular. I adored the FrUK, and the hinting of the CanLiet. I adore that pairing. Ah... The whole thing about Alfred's middle name being Francis because France made him change it after the Revolution. I really like that headcanon. Off to read the next one! Thanks for writing! |
xXthenextbookwormXx 5/25/12 . chapter 3Okay, you're right, somebody should ship CanadaxLithuania. It would be adorable, they're both so sweet... Although, I do wanna say this about Matthew: I am Canadian, and believe me, we don't say 'eh' as much as everybody seems to think we do. Like, Matt saying 'eh' every second sentence makes for a notable verbal tic, but it's not really representative of the lot of us. Just had to get that out there! |
DanieSora 2/25/12 . chapter 12this is awesome *O* |
Bait and Switch 4/23/11 . chapter 12A realy sweet story. Well planed out I imagine concidering the pills. I do like the idea of F in Alfred F Jones being Francis. Even as France's revenge as oposed to a gift from England. But thinking about it. Alfred was from then on nolonger a free man. Deep XD |
argella1300 1/8/11 . chapter 7technically, you can drwon someone in just three inches of water, but i get your point. poor wales! *hugs* has anyone been drawing on france's cast? i know i would make it look all pretty _ |
Fiction C9 12/12/10 . chapter 1I love the installations of this series, particularly 'Recovering Francis'. The emotion after the war and the relationships between the characters are very realistic and heartwarming. I would just like to clarify: Destroying Alfred and Training Yong Soo came BEFORE Recovering Francis and Discovering Ludwig right? Because the events are confusing me somewhat. Could you explain? Thanks. Sorry for being so thick-headed. Keep writing. Update! :) |
fireblazie 11/27/10 . chapter 12I'm really embarrassed by how long it took for me to get around to reading this after reading Discovering Ludwig. Sorry! XD So, this, of course, was *so* well-written. I know it was a bit more depressing, but I didn't mind. I like reading fics that center on the aftermath and recovery. In Discovering Ludwig I wasn't quite as invested into the Arthur/Francis storyline, but here I found myself going back and rereading chunks of DL so as to understand it better. XD If that makes sense? Like in DL, when Ludwig sees Arthur on Christmas and Arthur starts crying I was a bit confused - but here it made sense! And Arthur's speaking and Francis's reaction to his words made more sense after knowing all the background details and, I dunno, just clicked better. But perhaps I'm just slow? Haha. At any rate, it was another well-written story and I love your OCs! You fleshed them out really well. This is just in response to one of your author's notes regarding pairings - You know, when I came into the Hetalia fandom, I knew that USUK was the popular pairing and I came in here fully prepared to ship it. But to my surprise, I didn't! I mean, yeah, I saw the cuteness and the appeal, but I found my attention being dragged to the FrUK pairing. It's the history between them and the bickering and the animosity and.. ah. The way you played out the ending of their relationship was great. I admit I'm a sucker for the happy endings where they all live in one house happily ever after but I like that you made it different, more realistic. Ah. This was lovely |
Ceri Moriarty 11/21/10 . chapter 12This. Was. AWESOME. I love the way you write your characters, the way you characterize them, they way you write in general…EVERYTHING! Love how the "omake" at the end tells everyone that Al really is alive. Absolutely fabulous! |
ultimatebishoujo21 10/18/10 . chapter 12Nice fic |
Lizard 10/17/10 . chapter 9 I just had to say this before I go to sleep: this is so much better than the prequel. They all seem so much more real and interesting! I'm just waiting for France to overdose while really, really dreading it. I want everything to work but it's all so difficult! Augh! |
Anime Freak Sammy 7/29/10 . chapter 6Is it Belarus from Destrpying Alfred, cause nothing really's been said bout her and that all I can think of |
TheDawnCatcher 7/27/10 . chapter 12This was a very sweet piece. Not very dramatic, not much going on, but it explores Arthur and Francis' relationship in a way that doesn't make either of them look like total jerks, which is what often happens with them. It was interesting to read about Scotland, Ireland, and Wales from your perspective, especially since you've lived there yourself. I would've never guessed that Wales spoke like that, cause I've always had the impression that their speech was the most lyrical. And I concur with the note you had on the previous chapter, when you spoke about the different kinds of complex love they could have for each other. Glad to see someone who isn't being pig-headed about the subject, and I'm looking forward to Destroying Alfred. |
Sasuke0099 7/9/10 . chapter 12I love this story :)). Im not a fan of England and France but I couldn't stop reading. There was so much development and the characters were prefect! I just enjoyed it too much, I believe this is the best story I've read. |
animus-furandi 2/4/10 . chapter 12I have to say, I'm very glad you were "stuck up" and recommended this story to me. I loved it! Of course, not as much as "Discovering Ludwig," but that's just because Gertalia is my OTP. No bias here. Again, I like the snippets of French when Francis is talking and thinking - it *does* make his dialogue and such feel much more realistic. I liked being able to find out what was going on at the same time as "Discovering Ludwig," especially from Arthur's point of view. I didn't think much of him before, but now I know that (based on your writing, of course) there's a lot more to him than meets the eye. His whole characterization felt very in-depth to me, and I do tend to look for that trait in a good story. So, congratulations for succeeding in that category once again, for all of the characters! I can't say I was a huge fan of UK/France before... but now I think I like it a lot! Something about your writing style makes me accept new pairings and such... even your OCs for England's family were *very* believable, it's hard to believe they're not canon. I'm very pleased with this story, even if it's not as "epic" as "Discovering Ludwig." I do like a good romantic story once in a while, even if it doesn't have a lot of action. Anyway, it's not the action that makes the story - it's the conflict, and you DEFINITELY did well there. I favor Arthur's internal struggle above all other conflict in the story, especially because he does seem like the type to reconsider his feelings about France over and over again... I was a little surprised to read the bit about Canada and Russia through the story. It was awkward for me at first. Even so, I figured after where you wrote that: "Because while Russia could be bad company, he was still company. And after what had happened to his brother, France realized that Canada really needed someone there. Someone to take care of him and someone whom he could take care of. In that case, Russia was the perfect Nation for Canada to be staying with." ...then it was sort of crucial to the side plot. And for that, I commend you! :) Overall, another wonderful read. I'm off to read "Destroying Alfred" next, so expect another review very soon! |
