I also like how you wrote Lu as a willing participant in the whole thing. I personally believe she was and, while I can see her having some small amount of guilt over it all at the very end, I certainly don't see her as a sniveling woman who was forced or tricked into anything.

Great! Your character studies are the best things, sometimes.

This is an excellent take on a guy who practically defines the RPG mad scientist archetype. You've turned a sociopath into a success story, and it's compelling in a really surprising way-pathos for Hojo would have never occured to me before I read that very last section. I think the best part was that he was never sorry-he was PROUD of everything.

(One sentence rang strangely to me:

'He mentally cursed as he realized the tasks that probably lay ahead of him in the Logistics department'

Maybe it needs a closer?)
