IcyWaters 10/6/12 . chapter 1The title fits this story remarkably well. For all his intelligence, Helm walks around blindfolded, oblivious to what is in front of him. I really enjoyed his conversation with Don Gaspar. The older man prodding him to search for the Queen's soul and not her body is good advice, but it comes in stark contrast to all the doctor knows. As a physician, Helm has been trained to observe the body, so it's his first instinct. As much as I enjoyed this just as it's written, it has also left me dying to know if he is ever able to pull that blindfold off. Sigh, perhaps he is right... some blinders are not meant to be lifted. |
EreshkigalGirl 9/7/10 . chapter 1This was really good. I loved how you treated Dr. Helm and his search for the Queen. And his inablility to think like something other than a doctor. He looks for distinguishing physical characteristics rather than anything else. Even voice. Then again, one of the most important parts of Tessa's disguise is her gender. Nice little one-shot! |
wolfgirl 8/12/10 . chapter 1 Good story. Sometime I wanted to shake him for not seeing what was right in front of him |
PrincessPurity 7/15/10 . chapter 1Brilliance. Pure, blinding brilliance. Very true to the heart of the original, and in almost every aspect cut from the rough stonework of the idea, and polished till it shone, with but a few flaws here and there. Well done. Keep it up. |
El Gringo Loco 12/6/09 . chapter 1A few moments in time can be a lifetime. Perhaps it's just as well that the doctor's senses are numbed by the alcohol. For, as Don Gaspar would say, some secrets are best left unspoken. I liked the Don's character primarilly for his unswerving love and devotion to his wife. You have illustrated that very well. I hope to read more of your excellent work. |
Lauramichca 10/31/09 . chapter 1A well written moment, but aarrgghh! Thank you for still writing on this pairing, it is one of my favourites. |
redeeminglove 10/28/09 . chapter 1Wow... Please continue this story. There have not been a lot of people that actually write for the Queen of Swords. I would love for the doctor to finally figure out. |
Nr.Six 9/28/09 . chapter 1Wow I totally love it! Wish you would write more! So sad that Gaspar knows about Vera and Grisham. I really liked how you portrait Helm, and that Tessa was standing in front of him and he still didn't notice anything! |
