Athena Silverwolf 3/14/13 . chapter 1I do like the design of the tattoo, though I am wondering why wings? I like the story; it's a very brother-centric idea. It's also well written and I didn't catch any mistakes. |
SSwish 1/27/13 . chapter 1Very nicely done. I love the image of Peter getting a representation of his ties to Narnia and to Aslan actually does seem in character, especially for movie-verse Peter . The crown, Aslan and the sword are nicely chosen, as is the representation of Ed and even Susan, but where's Lucy? If you meant for Lucy to be represented by the same wing as Susan it seems pretty unfair to me, as she is not shown to be empty-headed As to Ed's piercing, I think it seems a bit out of character, but I don't really think that's a problem. I do have to wonder what happens when they go back to England. Hope to see more from yu soon. Susan S |
Allie Danger 12/8/12 . chapter 1Nice fanfic.. I dont know if i miss something.. but im intrigued for Edmund's tatoo.. Bye |
myrddin767 7/19/12 . chapter 1awesome |
Narnia-Bound 5/1/12 . chapter 1Hehe! This is one of favorite interactions between Peter and Edmound. I have read this a few times and I laugh out loud everytime! Sorry I didn't review sooner! Good job! |
Saoirse7 4/18/12 . chapter 1Very interesting. I don't know what their mother would say when they returned to "Spare-Oom" with a tattoo and a piercing, respectively, but it was interesting. Your writing is very good, and it made me laugh more than once. A unique twist added to the Golden Age. |
allanfrontrow 10/9/11 . chapter 1Hi I've just wandered into Narnia from Harry Potter land thanks to an author with an interest in both (Mists). If there is one thing I'm good at it's wandering off into the undergrowth. This is a very good fic - both well thought out and well written but why oh why do boys/men have to faint when getting their ears pierced? It's getting very old you know. The pro and con arguments about tattoos was very well articulated, so thanks for that. Are tattoos good or bad - or does niether term apply. I personally have several tattoos and had my left ear pierced (no fainting) and don't believe that they need any deep meaning. That being said I would not have any clan markings such as Maori or Celtic or Native American as I am not of these peoples. I do however have no problem with my tattoo that identifies me as English and that I believe the English to be the paramount nation that makes up the United Kingdom. As for ear rings - I no longer wear them as I managed to destroy the hole during a Rugby match years ago. My wife wasn't too upset as she didn't like me wearing them. Cheers, Al PS This became a bit of a ramble - sorry. Al. |
CatchingCraziness 8/6/11 . chapter 1I liked this One-Shot. I'm glad Peter got to keep his tattoo, and i can imagine Edmund with an ear-ring. By the way he described it, it sounded like Edmund had a tattoo himself. :) |
CrazyDyslexicNerd 8/2/11 . chapter 1While I was reading the definition, my stomach decided to burbyma-whatsit-thingy. You know what I mean. Personally I believe that tatoos are okay... I would never get one myself, but if someone wants one... Piercings, in my opinion, make much more sense because if you take out the ear-ring (or whatever) then it all but disapears. It's much less permanent. I love how Ed can't remember Daba-rash's name, reminds me of Caspian and Lord... Umm, I can't remember his name either. The one on the Lone Islands. -Dyslexic Nerd |
Baakthatsthenoiseachickenmakes 6/25/11 . chapter 1I loved this! Written very well :) I like your idea of bringing something so common as tattoos and piercings in our world into Narnia, but giving it all the necessary flair that tells you everything is more special in Narnia. This was adorable. And I did not think the ending weak. -Baak |
AlwaysABrandNewDay 4/14/11 . chapter 1Funny,really great story. And for goodness' sake, FAINTING, REALLY! I got MY earS pierced and didn't make a noise! And it can't be that much horribly more painful with just ice and a needle! My aunt got her ears pierced that way and SHE didn't faint! Keep writing! Caity :) |
Berserker Nightwitch 1/8/11 . chapter 1I do have to say one thing about your stories: I've made more use of my dictionary & thesaurus in the past day than in the past year. I love it! Good story, and I like both their stances on tattoos. Personally, I could never do it just because of the amount of pain, but as you said, so long as it's for the right reasons, I don't see a problem with it. As for the earring: It was for his position in Narnia and for Aslan, but I think he'd do it just to mess with Peter's head (make me watch you suffer in unnecessary pain? Well then, I'll just get a piece of metal jabbed through my earlobe). And I have read elektrum's stories. Amazing works. Thank you for sharing this! |
PariahCam 12/7/10 . chapter 1Amazing oneshot! I don't know why I haven't read it until now. It was probably on my to-do list that...er...-cough- "got lost". But anyway, yeah. Wonderful story, had me laughing and screaming along with Edmund the entire way. I used to be dead set against tattoos, but over the years I've wizened up as some friends of mine put it. I think that a tattoo can be good, and look downright gorgeous, as long as it has a story behind it. Like Peter getting an egg, if there is no real motive or depth to the tattoo, it is just a waste of time, money, and perfect flesh. But if there is a reason, a moral, some sort of important significance to the wearer, then it can be quite stunning and beautiful. I am actually planning on getting a tattoo one day, though I have yet to decide between two spots as to where. It is going to be Peter's shield, though fairly small, about the size of my thumb. And it's not just because of my fondness for Narnia. I won't bore you with the story, and I apologize for boring you with my lengthy explanation of my opinion, but in short, I do highly approve of tattoos if they were created with vast significance, like Peter's was. Piercings, on the other hand, I'm not nearly so fond of xD So yes. Wonderful story, as always. Great, unique plot that I've never seen before, which is saying something! Can't wait to read more of your work :) |
lillelouis 10/20/10 . chapter 1The fact that Peter adds wings to his ink is lovely. I think Edmund was perfectly portreyed by you in that moment he allowed his brother the privelege of patience. Very nicely done. But it does seem a bit (I'm ashamed to say) like a whim when Ed gets his... addition. A bit like a kid brother looking up to his older brother. Funny though, at one point you actually had me thinking that Edmund had a tattoo of his own before his brother ever got one, with the way he was acting. Very nice tease, regardless whether it was intended or not :) Great job as always. You stories are like little bits of choccolate and fairytales. God I really gotta re-read the books! Cheers. Andi. |
Bartholo 7/16/10 . chapter 1Wow, this was great. I loved your jokes in the bickering of the kings. I'm still not sure how the wings tie in with the siblings. Bartholo |
