T_T What a beautiful story. I'm glad that Kirk was not planning on going any further then smiles with Dr Taylor. Or so I assume. And I can understand how he feels too. Having a perfect connection with someone then it being ripped away it probably like losing a child. No wonder he didn't want to do it again, for both their sakes, but I'm glad Spock talked some logic into him.

The last paragraph made me cry. It was so heartbreaking.

Sigh. this was lovely, this is so TOS kirk and spock... and yeah, spock has it ROUGH. how does the guy go on? losing your soulmate 2x and imploding romulus... not fun times. but this story makes me think that at least he has these moments of tenderness to look back on... and kirk's vulnerability...ugh, achingly perfect.

One little correction...Dr. Taylor is from the 20th century. The century is always one "number" ahead of the first two numbers of the year in question. I was born in 1951, which is in the 20th century. We're now in 2009, which is part of the 21st century.
