What a great idea! I love how each of the turtles has to bear the weight of a taken life, no matter to whom it belongs. Excellent work.

This was an amazing story. I was expecting something totally different at first, and then as I kept going, I realized how truly good it was. Very impressive.

Wow. This was quite a moving piece. Far too often people tend to forget a life of war also brings a life of death. It's easy to think of battles as one-sided, as if the strikes mean nothing and their victims make no impression. I laugh whenever people fool themselves into believing that battles, whether fictional or no, do not result in the loss of lives.

They do, and they matter. They can change a person both body and soul.

What's so wonderful about the honor code the guys live by is the respect they give to both friends and enemies. This shrine of the dead reflected that in a profoundly beautiful way. Scars on the walls are scars from within made external. They mar a once beautiful place of their youth just as battle has hardened them with experience.

I love the interwoven symbolism of a beautiful place of childhood memories becoming a shrine to death and innocence lost. And yet, you describe the cavern as not only beautiful, but somewhat dead as well.

Beauty in death...how morbidly inspiring.

The death of the young Foot Ninja only furthers the theme of a childhood cut short. And this time, it was by an understanding hand.

A very intimate little fic with an extremely heavy message, just the way I like them! Bravo!

Much Love,
