 Lachwen 2009-11-24 . chapter 1 Wow.
Just WOW.
The black armband on her right arm had been tight, perhaps too tight, but she'd taken comfort in it. It had been like another person's grip on her, had kept her sane and speaking Standard.
(But it does hurt, it does, the pain is still there right now, her heart is red and throbbing with it, aching for Shalua just as much as it aches for Aerith, for her mother.)
And Shalua finished her carton of lomein. Yuffie will never forget that, will never forget the empty carton set on her desk and Shalua's gentle, beautiful smile as she leaned over the keyboard. Will never forget the keystrokes and the way that smile vanished.
It was exactly the wrong thing to say: there's stunned silence for a moment, the sound of an indrawn breath, and then Yuffie is shouting. The words come out in a blend of Wutaian and Midgarian Standard, the accent suddenly thicker:
Wow. I can really hear Yuffie in this, and I totally want more - any chance of that? (especially how things end, since I can't quite see Tifa not trying to stage an intervention).
I don't quite know what to say, except that you made me really feel this fic. |
Kaj-Nrig 2009-09-30 . chapter 1I like the way you write, Nagia. I'm not sure if I've mentioned that or not, but if I have, then I've just said it again.
Anyway. This fic actually makes the travesty that was DoC look like it had some sort of significance to it, which is an impressive feat. It turns the single-faceted and completely uninteresting characters of that game - Yuffie and Vincent included - and turns them into beings who are actually quite interesting.
I'm sure that DoC would have been a much better game had you written for it. |
serenbach 2009-09-30 . chapter 1I enjoyed this a lot, Yuffie and Shalua obviously had a deeper friendship than shown in the game by Yuffie's reaction to her death. That's the kind of thing that would take a while to get over and the way toy told it with flashbacks made it more effective. :) |
Amanda Fair 2009-09-29 . chapter 1Wow, this is a great fanfic! Very well written and it perfectly captures Yuffie. The funny thing is, during Dirge of Cerberus when Yuffie slapped Shelke, I really hated her. She couldn't possible understand the horrors that little girl had gone through and what losing her sister right after finding her meant...to me, Yuffie acted just like a spoiled brat. But you bring some humanity to the immaturity of Yuffie and I applaud you for an excellent piece of fanfiction. Bravo! ^_^ |
fetherhd 2009-09-29 . chapter 1Poor Yuffie... thats alot to deal with. very well wrietten. |
LilTigre 2009-09-29 . chapter 1This is quite possibly the best Yuffie-centric fanfic I have ever read. I don't even LIKE Yuffie all that much, but this was clear and believable and really made her come alive as a multi-faceted character. I also love how you've portrayed the relationships between the three main WRO heads- Yuffie, Reeve, and Shalua. It's fun to see people touch on that. |
