What a coincidence to run into this story.
I came across this four years ago on a site that's closed down now-I loved it, it was the first Atlantis fanfic I'd read.
I was thrilled to find it again and re-read it and it remains my favorite Atlantis fic.
Great job is all I can say.

I've read this story through several times and each time I've really enjoyed it. Especially this chapter with the Orion/Meera subplot. They're great characters that should always be together.

Please write some more stories.

I have read this story so many times and I could have sworn I posted a review up before and I realized I havent! But I thought this story was absolutely great! I wish Disney could have bought this from you to make a good sequel instead of the lame one they did instead! But I thought the character portrayals were great, esp Milo's. And I love Orion, he's such a great, strong character that I grew to love! Agai, great story and please write more!

THIS STORY WAS SOOOOOO GREAT!!!! I read the whole story straight through! I loved all the romance and I loved the plot! It was a great idea to make Rourke the essence of the Dark Crystal! And now Milo and Kida are gonna have a baby (squeals)^v^ This story was wonderful and is going to be one of my favorites!

WOW! I've already read this story before and loved it so much, actually it was the first fan fic I ever read.Kida is so cool.You have wonderful writng talent and really should think about writing a sequal.You get 10 out of 10 stars.Again,Wonderful story with with a capital W!

Very nice ^_^ the whole idea and writing of the story is very nice. but personaly i think that milo and kida should NOT i repeat NOT be married. ofcoarse this is just my personal opinion. the thought of both of them married and saying "sweetie" "honey" "darling" well, to me it seems lame. i think it would be better if they were just friends. plus i dont think that kida would say honey or sweetie to milo anyway. because that behavior is from the surface world. and since atlanis was been cut off from the surface for 8800 or so years. kida wont know about the "honey" "sweetie" thing! ti me it seems more "Kida like" if she just calls milo "milo" plain and simple.

That was wonderful :) Sorry I took so long to make my way through it :) It was so well reasoned out and the characterizations were great. I am assuming there may be more to come in the line of sequals?

A wonderful ending to a truly amazing Atlantis story. Your writing talent is so awesome, Lisa! You keep the spirit of the movie right in line within the story! Milo and Kida's emotions, strengths, and weaknesses are very well described here as well! You peek into their minds and develop their character beings so well. There is no doubt that The Dark Ones is among the best in the Atlantis fandom. Write a sequel to the story, Lisa! I want to see more of your writing talent.

Lisa, this is a magnificent piece of work! Your imagery sweeps me away, and the sweetness between Milo and Kida truly keeps them as main characters without inadvertently veering off (as I have often have to correct in my writing). You put in fan fictional characters that I actually care about and love! Your fan fiction left me aloft of the grand wings of a great yeragos. You kept making me think you were going to kill them off, even though I knew better, a sign of a truly great writer. Your retellings were so enjoyable. You kept in the Disney spirit, and left me felling wonderful. You truly have talent!

WOW! The Dark Ones is still getting better and better! Chapter 11 is absolutely amazing. When I first read this Atlantis fanfic, my mind was on Orion. He often acted uneasy around Throck and seemed to not like following his leader's orders. I didn't quite understand that at first. Reading this chapter made it much clearer to why Orion was acting so weird around Throck. I can't wait for the last few chapters of The Dark Ones. This fanfic is definitely one of the best in Atlantis fandom. Go where the dream takes you, Lisa! The Dark Ones gets big 10 stars.
