'“Once I have finished with it,” he says with utter certainty, “it will be safe.”'-My favorite line. Sesshy is so creepy! I love it!

Nice. Very nice. A brutally realistic look at Izayoi's fate upon the Inu no Taisho's death, and Sesshomaru's response is definitely plausible.

I like the way this fic portrays both Izayoi and Sesshoumaru.

Lovely ficlet. I like how you slowly ante up the desperation of Izayoi's situation without falling into melodrama (the lines about her silk shoes being torn and her skin gradually darkening were excellent). Great subtle but palpable tension between Izayoi and Sesshoumaru-I've always loved how you write the latter, always dangerous even when the claws are sheathed.

Thank you for writing it!

Fluffy does have a heart!

Well-hidden though it might be. I like the thought of him looking out for Inuyasha, if only because of their shared bloodline.

Had to laugh over the line "once I have finished with it...it will be safe". Pity the village that ignores Sesshoumaru's instructions!

Lovely one-shot!

My favorite character in this series is Sesshoumaru, so I am particularly happy to find _you_ writing about him; you capture so irresistibly so many of my other favorites, not the least of which is Katsura.

The detached style you use here greatly enhances her situation, itself one of "detachment": abandoned, unloved, never again to be part of any sort of community whatsoever. The tiny grain of "acceptance" Sesshoumaru offers to his half-brother completely bypasses his Izayoi; she is simply a tool to achieve his goal of ensuring the safety of that last drop of Inu no Taishou's blood. (I loved his almost idiotic question about why her family abandoned her; it really underlines his massively arrogant assumptions about his "rights"--of course _he_, the purest of the pure, would reject a half-blood, but why would anyone else, every one of whom are tainted anyway, do so?)

This is dark and silent and cold, and I especially loved the chilling moment when Sesshoumaru smiles--it _would_ be, as you put it so succintly, "terrifying". Thanks for a beautiful read!
