Lilly B. 2009-11-11 . chapter 3great chapter! i'm glad that caleb is back to normal...i am really enjoying the story and i can't wait to read the next chapter! |
rog457 2009-11-10 . chapter 3I'm so glad that Caleb is back without too much additional angst. Not only is he needed by all those who love him, he needs them. I loved the line about there being not much they wouldn't do for each other, well thats been proven time and again.
I hope that one of the next stories deals with whatever Caleb finds inside the house and how he handles it. Also how his new found knowledge about his father changes his perception about himself.
Damien, Deuce and Runt isn't quite Athos, Porthos and Aramis but it has a nice ring to it anyway.
Terrific story. |
badaiwind 2009-11-10 . chapter 3Caleb is back with us.
Thanks.
Cheers. :D |
tokie-pon 2009-11-09 . chapter 3Great ending! Reading your stories always makes me love Supernatural more than I already do. I look forward to the next installment!! |
Karialena 2009-11-09 . chapter 3Once again you have written a wonderful story. I must admit, at times, I was enjoying your version more than Kripke's. lol. I hope you guys continue with the great stories, your characters have come into their own, and the Brotherhood is fantastic. I have actually been half expecting someone do an AU story with the characters from Merlin laying the foundation for the Triad and Brotherhood. You have opened a whole new world of Supernatural and those fans like me, who can't get enough, thank you. Keep up the good work, and long live the 'Three Musketeers'. |
twotoe 2009-11-09 . chapter 3Yeah, Caleb is back. I was just looking at this yesterday, wondering when we'd see an update. Very happey to see one. Caleb with his memories and wearing his ring is great to see
I can't help but feel a little bit emotionally unfulfilled for some reason though. Maybe because it was so short, maybe it was just reader's unreasonable wish to follow the characters after the story is done-see what Caleb and Dean bring from the house maybe, but nevertheless to 'see' Caleb bring something from this chapter besides just the resolution of his memories. You've set it up so well. He was taken out in the first chapter by this and ran off from everything that mattered to him without knowing it. The second chapter was his first running and then going to the past and seeing more, perhaps seeing the hint of something different than he'd ever believed. Being forced to consider. This chapter he goes to get some sort of resolution, but we don't really see any of it. I feel a bit unfulfilled. I'm wishing we'd seen a little more of something. I'm just feeling like I'm...dangling...a little bit. Don't have that finished story sigh or something. Not sure how to describe it.
And the the biggie for me. I'm going to admit it. I'm WORRIED about Caleb. You've set up such a great character and I'm freaking terrified for him. I keep fretting in this world we're seeing where Castiel-a pretty tolerant angel by most standards-mentions that he repulsed by Caleb. Yes, I'd like to see Caleb the character get a little validation from the angels, but I realize this it is your story of course and what is the old saying-- Good writing is giving people what they need, not necessarily what they want. So I know that's me.
But on the other matter I'm scared. You've set this up so well with Caleb that I have this freakish fear that no matter the life he's lived, he's going to Hell just because of the blood in his veins. That there is no alternative. I was worried even before we found out he was repulsive. That Castiel can't help but feel repulsed, that what Caleb is, no matter 'what' he is, is a done deal is just... well there are no words. And it really disturbs me and breaks my heart for the character that he could live the life fighting the good fight, or really that he could live any kind of life at all, and that it makes no difference in the end, that his fate is set. And just as Dean didn't deserve Hell, Caleb doesn't. I really wish we would get 'something' to show that isn't the case. Even if Caleb never knows and it works to keep him wondering, I wish we knew that his fate wasn't set. Because honestly, it seems a bit like it is. Not that an afterlife spent with some of these angels would be great either so who finds whom repulsive if they never see each other may not matter. Hanging out with most of the angels we know probably wouldn't be the ideal afterlife for any of our characters as I expect them to be drinking sweet tea and eating pie with Pastor Jim and the gang. But the picture so far is looking like Caleb is going to fight the good fight and then be on the rack for eternity which as a fate for a character you love is really unbearable.
I'll stop whining, well mostly, and just throw in a plea. Can't we see something to assure us this isn't what is going to happen? That in the end it IS what he does that matters and that what he is doing is mattering? Demon blood or no? Because just like Caleb, no matter what Castiel said, it kind of feels like Castiel gave him the mark to hide from angels because it was the best thing for the fight against Lucifer and for Dean. No Demon has every gotten one maybe , but that doesn't seem to really be saying anything about what I'm concerned about. CAN Caleb even GO TO HEAVEN? It isn't looking like it from what we see and I hope that I am seeing incorrectly. Heartbreaking and unbearable if he can't. Definitely not what I NEED as a reader. LOL
That all being said, still my fave world. Best SN stories out there too. |
masondixon 2009-11-09 . chapter 3A nice story with a good "ending". The more I read about Caleb the more I like him and the more I get involved in The Brotherhood. Thank You. |

Nana56 2009-11-08 . chapter 3This has been an amazing story. Whatever Caleb finds inside, he's strong enough to face it and with Dean and Sam's help, he'll grow from it.
Thanks for sharing this with us. :) |
ChaiGrl 2009-11-08 . chapter 3As always, thank you for another amazing story. I really needed this tonight after working away in the library for 8hrs. Can't wait to see where you will go next. Until then, take care and Happy Writing! |

GB Freak1 2009-11-08 . chapter 3You are an amazingly talented writer. I hope someday you publish your own original stuff. I'm sure it would be great. I've been reading your stories for a while now and every one captures my attention. Thanks for that. Distraction from the day to day is a good thing. |
Foreverwolf 2009-11-08 . chapter 3Loved it! One of my favorite parts to the Brotherhood series has always been the strong and fast relationship between Dean and Caleb, their basic understanding of each other and willingness to take on anything to protect the other.
Thank you, once again, for sharing your amazing talent! I definitely look forward to the next set! |
