Oh...my...crying...goodness.

I was in TEARS by the time this was over. Your form of writing, way of dialogue, and capturing of the characters brought everything to life. You're a fantastic writer, and this was a fantastic piece. I usually don't ask this to people who intentionally only write one-shots, because I respect it, but I'm begging you: I want MORE. Can you please add on to that chapter, maybe? Or add another one? To see if Arnold ever gets a legal act together and has an old friend's family from Hillwood adopt him, or maybe him still living in this disgusting place with his fosters and see how he starts a relationship with Helga and see how that works out? Please. I'm still crying, honestly, because the story was too great and sad and now I just want more. I WOULD write a story myself, but it wouldn't be this good.

Please just consider it! Thank you!

I was trying not to cry, it was so good! It looks like Arnold saved her from herself and from her life once again. But this time she saved him as well. Such an alien place and time for her to tell him, but I suppose its as good as any. Maybe even better becuase they were both so venerable then.

Amazing job!

You truly write beautifully. You have a knack for detail and description that rivals none. This was a great peace, and though I'd love for it to be continued, I hate it when people don't accept the term, "One shot". So I will take it as it is, and congratulate you on a beautiful piece well done. It is perfect.

Dang it! 'roar beat me to the punch! Grr. :) Oh well, what she said in her review was spot on.

I'm going to wax poetic about this one for sure. I was utterly surprised when I read this. Here's a perfect example of a writer taking their craft and re-inventing the way they approach it. Just as the mark of a good band is not playing the same old thing over and over again just with a new melody, you've gone and re-invented yourself with this fic. The end result is such a marked seperation from your other work that it stands apart and shines. I am not saying that your other work isn't good, au contrair, it's wonderful, and this is just so completely different that it's fresh and unique.

Basically you took us all by surprise with this one!

One of my favorite types of stories are those where a character is thrown out of their element into an alien landscape, and then forced to come to terms with that landscape. Here's Arnold completely out of his comfort zone, in a situation he doesn't want to be in, so alone.

I hope people are paying attention to your treatment of both Arnold and Helga in this. They are both so real, so un-melodramatic that it hurts. The drama here is so very human. Helga herself has some seriously bad crap going down for her, with the way her hair is limped, and the marks on her arms. It sounds like Arnold found Helga at just the right time before she decided to take that hopeless plunge into a horrid life of drugs, alcohol, and cheap love.

They found each other admist all this and not once did it seem cliche or angsty. You didn't dwell on Helga's cuts, or her smoking, and you didn't dwell on Arnold's ** life as a foster kid. You didn't list what was going on in Helga's life, she was simply there to share Arnold's own experience and prove to him that there is still a glimmer of that old life he had, and that with Helga they can hold on to that together.

I'd say more but I think you get the picture.

I'll challenge anyone to tell me that this story doesn't have a happy ending, because it really has a wonderful, truly heartwarming, miraculous ending.

Great work as always.

Don't take this the wrong way.

I've been reading you for almost an entire year, and I didn't think it were possible for you to get any better as a writer, because you're darn near the perfect mix of hurt, comfort, drama, funny, and serious, but you've gone and outdone yourself encore! :)

Once again you take non-existent characters, make them flesh and blood, and make me forget that I'm reading about two cartoon characters!

I don't think God ever meant for anyone to feel the pain that Arnold and Helga did in this piece, and it's beautiful the way that you bring them together with a smattering of desperation, tempered with a great deal of love that really never loses hope.

Arnold's had a taste of Helga's life (in a way) without knowing it, and with the chance (well, there is no chance but destiny) of them meeting again. Arnold's been kicked around, but he still has the capability to care, and Helga's confession was so deep and the kiss they shared extremely dramatic, but not to the point of being sickeningly melodramatic with it, made even sweeter by fulfilling Helga's dream, and Arnold initiating it. The whole exchange was completely believable, they came full circle! I was so happy when I read that! :)

Anyway, perfect story, I mean it was really and truly perfect in every way!

Thank you for writing this, and before I get too fancy, holy crap as usual, this was good! XD

I can't wait to see what else you write!
