but btw, Alex was born in 1987, the books are set in 2001 so alex would be 7 in 1994, not 9 - you can see it in Skeleton Key for example, when Blunt is saying to Alex about the Berlin Wall falling in 1989 and saying that it wouldn't mean a lot to Alex and then Alex goes 'I was only two at the time.'

Great chapter - good explanation of why Yassen didn't kill Alex :) You've got some sort of issues in the middle where a chunk is repeated (explaining how Yassen forgives John). I felt this was perhaps not explained enough (repeating the same stuff twice doesn't count :p) - he seemed to forgive him too easily.

That said, I'm very curious about where this is going; this is really original and it's well written - a rare combination in the AR fandom ;)

You did a slight thing where it repeated the same couple of paragraphs so you might want to fix that.

OK OK, I'm one of the people who reads and doesn't review - it's terrible, because I complain about it so much myself. This chapter was the best so far by a long way - I think the emotions were much more realistic. I like the way you've portrayed Julia - sufficiently tough. I'm not sure where you're going with this, but I'd like how this develops to Stormbreaker - why he forgives John and spares Alex. Nice work, hope to see an update soon :)
