Wonderfully written exploration of what might have been given that dream scenario. You wrote the action very well and believably so. I like how Spinelli chooses Jason over Maxie, how he and Jason share a bed at the end, "curled up together". Lovely.

Yes! Thank you for this, as you know I watched it from its inception and liked it but what you did at the end, very nice. It has just the right level of lots of stuff to figure out but the fundamental rightness of Spinelli choosing Jason and Jason reciprocating was perfect (Also the subtle hint about Jason's past proclivities and possibly Spinelli's as well, nicely placed). Maxie is one amzing packer, that is all I can say! Also, we all know that Jaspin will be totally involved in the kids' lives probably in a less toxic way than previously. After all the little boy said "bye" to his Uncle Jason. I don't think Maxie will be silly enough to turn down ANY help she can get with three kids.

This at the very end, was my favorite part: “You sure you want to pick me?” Jason asks, when they’re both close to sleep. Spinelli can probably, maybe, at least have a chance at fixing this if he tries right here and right now, but…

“Yes.”
