This is very good. I like this very much you have the 'Angry Warrior' making his feelings known. I have always felt that the J/C relationship that most fans write about just isn't there. Mind you Paramount never really used the XO properly, or Tuvok's friendship with Janeway all that well either. But that is what us fan-writers are really good at - putting down in black and white what should have been on the screen. You have captured our favourite XO really well. Thank you for writing this and well done.

I loved the tone of the story and the great first person POV. I, however, have never agreed with the Janeway's lad dog view of Chakotay. TPTB ignored him, focussing on other characters, but he was still there making reports, handling duty rosters, crew disputes, and giving advice to a very stubborn captain. Maybe, at times when he was angry, he might think that way. But, I don't think Janeway thought of him like that. Anyway, despite not agreeing entirely, I give praise for the good writing that crafted the piece.

Great story. You gave back Chakotay his dignity, and I adore you for that.

Very nicely written. Your take on the Chakotay/Janeway relationship was wonderfully biting, and you make the negative viewpoint sound so plausible. This was awesome! I loved the way you portrayed Chakotay. Finally a story where the first officer is a man and not just Janeway's lapdog. Congrats on writing a terrific story.

Oh, this is great. Chakotay at his best - insightful, self-deprecating and passionate. I love dark fic like this, and it's wonderful to see a C/7 story which acknowledges the J/C thing without assassinating it. I especially like the way Chakotay talks about being a tamed rebel and taking pleasure in Seven's rebelliousness. Wonderful stuff.

Great story! I really enjoyed it, and although it's not a view point I've ever taken of the show, I think you wrote it extremely well and very much in character. I had always wondered what would happen when Chakotay got sick of waiting...and now you've told me. Kudos!

This is interesting...a point of view that we don't read very often. I really like the tone you've used, because it's not his usual tone, but it doesn't sound beyond Chakotay's capabilities. A pleasure to read!
