I don't think I have seen this version, but this makes me want to track it down. Good for Mr. Knightley for challenging Emma! She always was a bit spoiled (though I always liked her!). Wonderful scene. You seem to have their relationship down perfectly!

Ha! I love the notion of Emma being lulled almost to sleep by a passage from Milton, or so sure that her own will would outlast Mr. Knightley's that she consented to Chinese lessons, and that he was more than willing to meet her challenge for challenge and vexation for vexation.
